I have an appointment on the 10th to get my tint. I'll post pics when done. Max legal here is 35% and I'm getting 80% on the windshield to cut glare a little and (hopefully) keep that black leather interior a little cooler. Wish I could go darker, but I always get caught if I try to break the rules.

Honestly the cops will leave you alone as long as you arent driving like an idiot.
My previous car had 15% all the way around, in an all black SUV, and I never had a front license plate either. I drove it for 4 years and never had an issue once despite seeing cops on my daily drive all the time.

I tend to have terrible luck getting pulled over. Going 5 over? Pulled over. One day expired registration? Pulled over. 15 minutes after driving your new car off the lot with switched plates? Pulled over... So I'm just assuming that might happen at some point and they'll check my tint... I actually got a tint ticket on my first car. I was 16 and bought it that way. I had no idea about the laws. :sadbanana:

OP, Michigan Law states any tint level for the rear windows but the front two can only have a 4 inch strip at the top. I had my G5 done as 20% fronts and 15% rears, looked awesome but I got tickets over here in the Grand Rapids area. I had my next car done in 35% all around (VW Golf) and it looked good but not dark enough for me, no law problems though. Then on my '10 Cobalt SS I did 35% front and 20% rears and it looked perfect and I loved it, plus no cop issues...
I have an appointment this coming Saturday to have 35% F / 20% R done again on the Sonic Extreme Car Audio in GR does a great job, charges ~$200 normal but you can usually find a $20 coupon in phonebooks, online, etc

I don't know exactly what it is, but I have 35%vlt all around and it's in that area.

I'm in Grand Rapids and had 35/20 on my last car (Mazda 3) for 9 years and the same on the Sonic for the past 8 months and never have had any issues. I've been pulled over several times in all those years and the cops never said anything about the tint. I've been next to cops at red lights more times than I can count and have always looked over and given a nod without any issue. I got mine done at the Tint Factory on Buchanan a block south of 36th last July and they did a great job considering my Sonic was their first (they'd never even seen one before).

I had asked the dealer to put 50 on the fronts and 35 on the 2nd row and hatch. I just assumed it was how I had asked and didn't even think twice.
I went out to lunch with my coworkers and sat in the back. I noticed there was some bubbling in the rear tint and then voila, holy crap these are the same tint.
Did I mention this is my first car with tint?
Anyway I am planning on taking it up to ziebart to have them fix it. If I print off the email I sent to the dealer, do you think they'll redo it entirely?
Has anyone else gotten other ziebart work done? Undercoating, diamond coating paint protection, etc? Worth the $ or not?

Not worth the paint protection or interior guard.
My dealer wanted $800 for it.
You can do it yourself for under $50 and some elbow grease. I am waiting for a nice warm day and gonna do the whole wash/clay/polish/sealant treatment. I already bought the interior Auto Scotchgard as well and just need to apply that to the cloth interior as well.
