Usually my 1.4 runs at around 220 degrees, but just today, it read on my ultraguage that it was running at 245 degrees. Is it something I should worry about,?
The coolant is dangerously low, which is strange. I checked all my fluids yesterday night and they were full. So it drained over night. The electric modulator on the battery is making a beepong noise too.
I bet the water pump may be leaking. Its been fairly common on this engine.Generaly that has been a very slow leak.fill the coolant and temps will be in normal range. And of course get it to the dealer
Sorry to hear that you are experiencing this with your Sonic. Let us know how the dealership visit goes, and if there is anything else you would like us to assist you with.

Well I just got back from the dealer. They were super helpful in getting me in right away, and they diagnosed the problem just as fast. A coolant line burst from rubbing against an engine mount. They are fixing it tomorrow since they don't have the hose available. They gave me a 2014 Chevy Silverado to drive till it's fixed
