No back speakers in base model

Its not too bad. If you already have it i wouldnt buy a new one. 60 watts rms by 4. Not too bad. You could def go better but ud spend alot.

Ok I have both sides on now, and I'll tell you right now that you won't hear your rear speakers, maybe if you sit back there.

As long as they can be heard from the back seat, that's all I'm after. I want my girls to hear the music without having to blast it through the front speakers only. I'm down that there isn't a fade option, but at least I won't have to blast the music so loud. Did the speakers work right away? No hooking up wires behind the deck?

Yes right away, I haven't touched the the stock or the front speakers. I just put wires in and connected the speaker and it works.

Finally got the speakers put in this morning. They are Alpine SPS-610, 240w peak, 80w RMS. They sound great and add a little extra bass to the overall sound in the car. But most importantly, my girls can now hear the music back where they sit!

This might help , it's a rather large speaker with a smaller cone in the center

I would call that a 6.5" full range speaker with a whizzer cone. The whizzer cone improves high frequency response because it is glued directly to the voice coil and ergo can move much faster than the rest of the cone which has a lot of flex in it.

whizzers were common in the 1950s and 60s and actually really do work but they don't extend the frequency that much so its not as good as an actual tweeter.

You have to remove the lower bpillar panel. It doesnt run into the door.

Hey l'm new here. Just picked up surface mount speakers for the rear deck. How can I acsess the wire that runs to the b piller? How can I remove the
piller? Is it hard to do?

Thamks alot man. Slowly I plan on replacing the stock radio with a Kenwood HU witj nluetooth and cd. Figured I start with rear speakers and surface mounted on rear deck seems easiest option.

I got the LS model that didn't come with the rear speakers, so there is nothing back there, not even holes except one square hole.

Mine is not even a LT. I am going with a pair of Pioneer surface mount speakers for the rear deck. I figure it is the easiest way to go. I dont want to mess with the doors back there and from reading this thread it seems like you cant really hear them up front. Figure I'd do this first then save up for a nice Kenwood HU withblutooth.

Do the runner panels just pull off? The front one looks like the hood release lever might get in the way.

I took the panels off the drivers side. I dont know where the speaker wires are. There are some wires run into a clip that looks like it attaches to a hose that comnects tp the back door. Looking back on page 4 or 5 of this thread It I think this clip has the wires going into it. Can I just cut them and tie the speaker wirs to them since I am using rear deck mounted speakers and doeed to go into door. Son 007 can you help me out? You know your stuff

Yes the rear speaker wires run from the radio to those plugs, but not into the door. You can tap in there and run into the door or whereever you like.

Thanks Sonic 007. So I can can snip the speaker wires off of that clip and tie the speaker wires onto them and run it to the deck? Thanks dude.
