My cable was adjusted properly. So what now?
So just got my car back with new transmission and surprise it still grinds! Anyways the clutch travel is much shorter and it let's out at the bottom instead of the top now. Has anyone else had something like this happen after getting it serviced?
Replaced, sure, but did they adjust the linkage?

I think some of you need to learn how to drive , the only grind I get time to time is when I shift into reverse and apparently there is no fix for it .
So I just changed out my fluid yesterday (I used lucas 75w-90 syn) and after a fair amount of trying I have not had a gear grind, its still too early to give a factual opinion, but at this point I am quite satisfied.
I will post an update in a week or two. If no grind after that point I will be a happy camper!
On a different note has anyone had trouble getting into first (aside frome the 20mph lockout)???
My first shift into 1st or a downshift into it is unduly difficult. Intially it was just around 20mph (bc lockout feature) but in the last couple weeks its gotten quite noticable. I really have to push on the shifter and hold it until it finall drops in.. its like trying to shove a big shaft into a small hole, lots of resistance and then it finally goes in (sorry for the euphemisim its the best analogy I can come up with). So yeah anyone else have this issue?

It's not how we are driving them its the car, I've never had a problem in the past 14 years I've been driving stick. Hell we got truckers on here who have their cars grinding, those guys know how to drive a manual.
I know trucks arnt synchronized and I know you have to use the clutch. I was simply pointing out that they know how to drive a manual compared to people that buy a manual without knowing how to drive one.FYI trucks are not synchronized transmissions. I also know some truckers who think its safe to shift a synchronized trans without the clutch, guess what ITS NOT. They drive trucks, they do not engineer transmissions. When you shift a synchronized transmission without using the clutch ANY mismatch in speed between gears is taken up by the synchronizer and there is no way in hell you will ever have them perfectly matched.
Not that it helps but I'm now at 2500 miles and not a single grind in any gear ever, I hope my luck continues. Also, I never shift into 1st unless I'm at or below 10mph.
BTW, thicker oil will cause downshifting into 1st while moving to become harder. As I said previously its harder for the synchros to speed the gear up due to the thick oil.
