It honestly takes like an extra 5 min to do it right. While its out, is also a good opportunity to paint it

Anyone post a how to / step by step of how to remove the manifold. Looks like there's wires and tubes I don't want to puncture or put back in the wrong order.

Yeah, porting the IM is something I really wanna do before I leave. I move out next Saturday, and won't be able to do anything again until December. Before I move out, I want to:
Install the IC
Port the IM
Bypass bypass
Dynamat if possible.
I wish I could get the speakers done in time, but I realize more and more that this is a different animal than my 94 truck install, and need to read up more on crossovers, LOC's and that speaker adapter thing ;p

Pretty much disconnect charge tube from throttle body. remove 2 bolts from fuel rail, disconnect connectors to fuel injectors, leave injectors in rail but move out of the way, disconnect connector to TB, disconnect vac hoses on the bottom passenger side (some ones in bypass the bypass), remove the bolts holding IM to the head, lift up on IM see if i forgot to mention anything else still connected. Take your time and push other hoses out of the way as you angle it to clear the top of the engine.
I did that from memory so i may of missed a few things but overall super simple. It will be very self explanatory as to whether your disconnect it to get it out or not. Main thing is make sure you have the right torx/sockets before you get started and take your time.

Just did Intake Manifold today! Took notes and lots of pics. I'll post them shortly. You're welcome to email or message me if you have questions. Or call when you're ready to do it. Not that hard.
There are a lot of cables to disconnect but once you start looking at them, you'll see that they are all formed to only go one place. It would actually be hard to put them on the wrong place! And, the connectors are not all the same shape. Putting it back together was the easy part.

I'm having an issue turning off my P0420 Catalyst Efficiency code. I used EZFlash to turn any Cat codes I saw off and turn the monitoring system off. Do I have to export that to the tune file of something?
Replaced my broken taillight and swapped back to the stock engine mount. I miss the extra power...but it's so smooth and quiet now. I'll be making my 1/2" poly spacer and coming back to it.
Tonight I'll be blasting my charge pipes, hopefully install the IC Thursday. Gonna start dynamatting the rear doors today I think. I'll see how far I get before I have to leave.
Hell, maybe I'll take a lot of tools to school, strip my car in the parking lot and do the floor and stuff there

Dynamatted the rear doors last night! Went pretty well. Bit of a learning curve IMO- after doing the first door I realized just how large of pieces I could fit into the door.
I did the door outer skin (inside the door itself) and then the inner, where the door card mounts. Outer skin ~60% coverage, inner 95%. I did the lock knob delete previously, so I trimmed the rod halfway across the door to minimize how much if it I had to make room for. I didn't have the gumption to remove the latch mechanism and terminate it there.
I'll be doing the front doors today and tomorrow. Unfortunately I think that's all I'll have time to do- I can't get to my powder coater soon enough to color the charge tubes, and I don't feel like having bronze tubes on my car lol. I will be taking the dynamat with me and doing my floor at school

Getting something like an intake tube powder coated can be done in an afternoon put back on the car and driven away without worrying about damage to the paint? I'm wondering cause I'd like to get this done too.

I got the front passenger door done last night. Much easier to work on, and I was able to cover more area with fewer pieces, so that's a plus as well. Plan to finish the drivers door tonight.
Now that it's only my door not deadened, I'm really beginning to feel the difference. It may be placebo, but I feel like there was a slight bias in the radio to the passenger side-I actually checked my fade/bal. It is pointing out the need for it on the floor IMO, so I'll be taking some measurements and seeing how much more I need. If it's a whole box I'll do that at school and do the trunk today as well.

Just to give you some more info, powder coat isn't paint, it's a heat cured powder. Once it's cooled, it's done, no worries abut harming it. That being said, it has to get pretty hot for that to work, and takes a while to cool down, so yes this is possible, but expect it to be a several hour wait.

Yeah, the change in sound is very dramatic, it wasn't the placebo effect, instead of the the door panels absorbing sound, it's now being reflected back into the cabin. Glad it's working out for you! Hoping to have time in early September to do mine.

Well I hope I don't disappoint with my lack of photos (they make any post better) but I finally got the charge air cooler pipes coated white and the whole kit and kaboodle installed! I'm inclined to think I may have a boost leak, but I need to build a leak tester before I can be sure.
Car is definitely much quicker and pulls harder-going from the stock charge pipes is noticeable. With the ambient temps coming down so fast around here I can't comment on the lack of heat soak/generally cooler charge, which I'm sure there is.
My build is going to slow down a lot being at school now, this semester is harder than I expected. Plan to do the stereo install and floor deadening over winter break, assuming I'm not working.
Side note, the car is paid off and all mine! very good feeling
