My rotors were junk after one track day. They would pulsate so bad during city driving, it was unbearable... I upgraded to j hook rotors and Hawk HPS pads. The j hook rotors make a constant noise as the pad goes over the rotor which I posted a video of on another thread. (just a warning). I would have went with HP+ pads if they were out when I bought my pads but they dust A LOT and they squeal A LOT. My friend has them on his car and his wheels are black after a day.

Mine are pulsating, and my dealer said that is covered on the 3/36 warranty.

RS knobs are leather, LTZ knobs are rubber with plastic "chrome" top piece that is just "sticky taped" on. The rubber has stretched and peeled away and the chrome piece just fell off. But def want them to see if rotors covered. Embarrassing pulling into a parking lot squawking like a sea gull. :blankface:

unless you're planning on getting rid of the reverse lockout...have fun trying to find a knob that fits. It's why I went back to OEM knob. Check out my build pics for example. I liked the cylinder shape but the exposed spring and constant slipping of the set screws irritated me.

Glad this was brought back up. I was thinking about the following the other day and wanted to get some feedback here.
I've owned vehicles with drum rears in the past, but never upgraded brakes on those. The cases where I did upgrade the brakes/rotors, the vehicles were equipped with rotors front and back.
Question is - how would brake bias/balance/distribution/force be affected (if at all) on a car that retains stock rear brakes and gets an upgraded fronts? Sure, something on the order of 70% of the braking is done with the fronts on vehicles, but would it change?

I have a cruze eco with 50k miles on it... original pads on rotors on the front, rear brakes are drum.
Warping your rotors relies heavily on how you drive.
I can say though that my old 04 cavalier had warped rotors after I drove through a flooded road... I slammed on the brakes to try to slow down before the giant puddle. After that, heavy brake pulse.

15k and warped rotors??? On a Sonic???? I've never seen that before. New car trend seems to be about 40k on front brakes, 100k+ on rear drums. Rear discs usually rot out before the pads are gone. Everything I just said is moot if your racing it. The factory brakes on these cars were NOT meant for road racing.
They're making pads last 40-50k while still getting a great stopping power, no noise, minimal dust - and people still bitch that OEM brakes pads are 100 per axle. Lmao.

You can still get those. Its called "Valucraft" - Autozone sells them. I dont like doing brakes every 10,000 miles though.
They arent track cars from the factory. Upgraded brakes and tires would be the VERY FIRST thing on my list before I even went to the track.
