Chevy Performance Suspension?

OK I am guessing that you did not get our email.

GM has placed this on a recall notice. My acc rep is telling me that it has something to do with the bushings and the bump stops. I don't have any other info at this time. When I listed it GM told me that it was available and never sold one until you did and never checked it. There are two options as of right now.
1, Wait until it is released (i don’t have a time frame)
2, Refund you and I will call you when it is available.

Hello All! I went and ordered this kit from Abernethy Chevy on ebay and this was the reply that I got!

Don't know about the specifics, but do know this is a Chevy pattern. Any member of this forum that believes differently feel free to contradict.

Why does Chevy do this? I have no good idea, but I repeat this is normal. Chevy is quite willing to announce performance parts complete with pictures and NEVER get around to actually making some of them available. So the question is are you willing to wait?

I wound up ordering it from gmwharehouse on ebay! I even contacted them just to make sure they had the kit and they did!
I've been reading this thread and it seems that everyone who has the kit is happy with it! I figured something didn't sound right from them, so I just wanted to get a little info!

I installed my kit. It lowered the car a little bit and the road feels a little bumper but I have much better control. I'll wait for the suspension to settle before posting comparison pics.

Well, I installed the kit! It did lower the car a bit and it looks good!
The ride is stiffer but feels much better as the car will turn and has alot less body roll! I have the 17" factory rims with some Yokohama's and the tires stick well.
It took me roughly 4 hrs. to do all 4 corners of the car by myself with air tools, and a few beers!

Overall I'm very happy with the performance of the new suspension and would recommend it!:banana:

Bought the springs and rear shocks for my RS. There is a substantial difference and I wish they had included these on my RS purchase. I use my car as a daily commuter and was not looking to go too low. I don't have a before and after but there is a height difference, more so on the rear tires.

How much has the ride quality deteriorated, if any?

Not any in opinion. My wife actually commented that it feels more smooth. I take about 70 miles round trip on toll roads each day, and it's still a pleasant ride. It has maintained the same amount of bumpiness as before but recovers noticeably quicker. Also when changing lanes I have noticed less body roll.

Okay, here's a follow up to having the GM Performance Suspension Kit installed on my 2013 Chevy Sonic LTZ 1.4T 6sp manual.
First off, In addition to receiving an estimate from my Chevrolet dealer, I obtained four additional estimates from other auto service garages. Two of the four provided me estimates that were $150.00 less than Chevy. One independent garage provided me with an estimate that was within $65.00 of Chevy, and another came in at $257.00 more than my Chevy dealer...What on earth??? In addition, A couple of the other shops said, "I never worked on one of these before." which makes sense since the car is still relatively new to the segment. Firestone would not even touch it because the parts were not from them. Due to warranty concerns and knowing the dealer would most likely do the job right, I decided to have my local Chevy dealer install the kit, which I believe was the right choice. I am extremely happy with the install.
As far as performance, all I can say is Wow! It's been just about a week and I couldn't be happier with this performance enhancement. The kit lowered the car 20mm, firmed it up a bit, which is just enough without sacrificing ride quality. The Sonic looks more stealth, feels more responsive and more planted to the road. When I hit a turn hard, the car is much more stable. Before this kit was installed, I was considering installing a rear sway bar. Now I feel that there is no need for one.
It is evident that this GM kit works in concert with the engineering dynamics of the Sonics suspension, therefore it is a perfect match.
I would highly recommend this kit!

Just use the RS shocks and struts and put what ever you want for springs

Any more pics? How is the suspension holding up looks like if you got 17's it closes the gap pretty good. Anyone know the drop after it settles?

It's only about a half inch drop, just enough to make it look better without the fear of scratching up your bottom end

So is this suspension FE3 or FE4? The Hunter alignment machine shows FE4 as a higher option with no description. FE3 is labeled "Sonic RS". Any ideas?

If they have two options and one is labeled "Sonic RS" and you do not have a RS then I would use the process of elimination and go with the other option.
