Cracked air intake piping

Same thing is happening with mine...was there an replacement that GM is doing? I asked my dealership and they told me they wouldnt fix it free/under warranty

I was replacing my air filter when I noticed a crack in my intake hose which wasn't fully cracked all the way through so i played it safe and I duck taped it. The new material duct should be here thursday or friday this week. It was 50 damn bucks for that piece of rubber haha chevy needs to recall those hoses I'm sure a lot of us did some damage allowing crap into our engine since a small hole or crack won't give you a check engine light. But nope chevy decided to save there behind by producing a different material one and calling it a day. oh well.

Im waiting on Chevy Support online here because the Intake Manifold is part of the warranty... "...After looking into the warranty, I do see that the intake manifold is covered for 7 years or 70,000 miles, whichever happens first.... "

I also just now am in the process of replacing the stock intake tube with an original one from GM, #94537633, hopefully I ordered the correct one. Getting it from EBay ,item sold by chevynationparts. $42.43
I just replaced the thermostat, about $100.00, and the oxygen sensor upstream, AC Delco 213-4699 GM Original Equipment Heated Oxygen Sensor $43.24 from Amazon, and I was still getting the p0171 error code. Thanks to this forum again, I was able to find the cracked intake hose or tube.

My car went in for a blown head gasket/warped head at 32k miles (2012 Sedan 1.8L auto) and when they completed the repair they told me the duct was bad at the cost of $170 and that the head and gasket were warranty, the duct was not.
I figured they were trying to make some money back, so I told them two choices: Tow the car back to me, I'll buy the new OEM duct for $40 off Ebay, install it myself and bill them for the part and my labor or they could replace it as they should and return the car back to me in perfect order.
They chose option #2

Any of a number of the aftermarket intake kits available.
I went to put my SAB back in and found that the tube that has been out of the car since early 2013 is cracking. It wasnt all they way through, but enough that i replaced it. $55 from my local dealer.
After several months with a P0171, I finally looked at the hose between the Mass Air Flow Sensor and the Throttle Body. I think that it is call a snorkel hose. Several ribs were torn and I now understand why I received a lean mixture code. The air was passing into the engine through the torn ribs. Cost me about $55 to replace and roughly an 1/2 hour to figure out how to get to the tightening screws and then install the new one. Watch hose direction, it does matter which way the replacement is put in.

For any of you who dealt with this issue, did you notice a sound difference with a torn intake? When my radio is down, I can hear an annoying buzzing sound coming from my air filter area when cruising above 75 on the highway. The faster I go, the louder it is, and when I let off the throttle and coast it's even louder. Once I get below 75 it tends to diminish until it does away. No codes thrown yet, just trying to see if this is related or not. 1.8 LS Auto just clocked 42k on the odometer.

Car had 36000 on it and I had already been hearing a hissing noise for a few months now with no avail on finding the culprit. Finally a check on the air filter this weekend led me to discovering the hose had a tear near the middle on the half facing the firewall. Glad I found it cause it made the thing run like crap!
