Cx racing intercooler kit!!!!

Many don't know, but they will send you the sonic fin type, OR the cruze bar and plate type. Also, I modified my crash bar for the same look.

Kegs, you got a pic similar to the SEMA car with bumper on, no lower grill? I want to design a grill to show off a much larger IC but still keep it protected from road debris.

Thinking about doing this upgrade in the spring as well.

my cxracing intercooler i just cut the bottom half of the crash bar and it fit perfectly without major mods.

Can the Cx Racing Intercooler Kit fit 1.8L? The entire thread is all 1.4 and I am making inquiries to making my 1.8 LT2 into a 1.8 LTZ and there are several other things to consider but strictly speaking of the INTERCOOLER, since it does not come with a stock to upgrade from, could this be a choice if from starting from scratch?

There is plenty of room in the front for one and I really don't know the difference between 1.4s and 1.8s as far as engine components/under the hood go. Are they pretty much the same from the crash bar to the radiator? Thanks!

A stock 1.8 does not need a intercooler. Period. It's non-turbo.

The 1.4 is a turbo and uses a intercooler to help cool down the intake charge before entering the engine.

No, the drivetrain is different in every way. Nothing on the 1.4 will bolt onto the 1.8. I think they even have different bell housings.

The 1.8 is a different engine series than the 1.4, and has no common components.

The general consensus is that the stock will perform better than the CX IC until it becomes heat soaked. The CX IC takes longer to become heat soaked and recovers quicker. The stock IC does perform well, it just gets heat soaked quickly, like 3 pulls. This is also assuming you have hard pipes for the stocker. The stock rubber pipes to hard pipes would have a different factor on how it performs which may lead to a more direct upgrade.

(this is not my testimony just talked to a lot of people who have it when i was trying to decide which IC i wanted to get)

Makes sense, thanks, I would love the mpfab set but I just can't justify spending that much so It was between the zzp kit and this one.

Save the cash and buy the MPFab unit the core is much better

You can prob get tested quality product with MPFab with a trade off of giving your entire wallet or you can save a few hundred bucks and get cxracing kit which hasn't been dyno'd and what not but live happy you saved a few bucks like other owners on SOF who have the same kit and not heat soak as much.

I'm a cheap bum so I'd go with Cxracing since heat isn't much of an issue in Oregon so it should hold up since I'd not only upgrade tubing but the intercooler size as well. ZZP is just a straight intercooler swap and i'd be forced to purchase new pipes since rubber are not so great.
