DDM Catback and the RS

Just had the catback installed in the Sonic RS. There is a difference between the non-RS turbo exhaust and the RS in addition to the bright trapezoidal tip, which is the pipe takes an extra turn, which means the DDM tip is off centered. Not a problem for me but thought others might want to know.

Pictures will not be immediate; I will once again need to borrow a camera, and for newbies, no I do not have a cell phone capable of taking pictures. I also have some sixties era styled crossed flag fender emblems to install. In the sixties and early seventies Chevy used this style to mark their performance cars. The '62 and '63 4bbl and turbocharged Monza's got them, then in '64 the turbocharged Monza got its own model designation (Spyder) and that style was no longer used by Corvair, which started using variations of checkered crossed flags.

The DDM tips is on the right side of the opening, leaving about three inches of empty space to the left of the tip.

The color is red. In my life I have ordered eight vehicles, six of them red and two of them black. I have never ordered a yellow but I did buy one off the lot in order to supercharge it. (2003 Cavalier)

Not sure what that is but I suspect that the bright trapedoizal shaped tip may be exactly that.

And to correct what I said in the first post, the '62 and '63 crossed flag emblem was used on the rear deck lid not on the fenders. Even when I was writing that I had a nagging feeling I was not being accurate.

There can be a few different types of dual walled, the dual wall I have is completely sealed, then you have the Borla fin type and then Magnaflow uses a dual wall that wraps back around where the dual wall isn't sealed up front.

I want a dual exit setup in a bad way just way to scared to cut my bumper. Or the factory exhaust for that matter.! Ugh damn warranty. Never had a car with one now I'm terrified to do any thing to it.

Thanks for posting this Laborsmith. I'm planning on getting a DDMWorks catback for my RS with part of my tax return. Hopefully they will have some sort of adjustment or something to fix this gap soon. I still don't completely understand without a picture.

I would definitely go with something like what Smit posted up top...I was wondering where that pic came from? I've seen it online before...was it an early RS release before they finalized the RS for production?

And laborsmith. I like the look without the trapezoidal tip.

I think it would look nice if Dave fabbed up a tip that looks like the factory RS's. keep the stock look with not so much stock sound.

By the way Laborsmith, is the exhaust the same as the standard 1.4 minus the tip?
