DDM Works Big Brake Kit in works

No doubt the ZZP kit is gonna be cheaper. I'm excited to see someone go for it. If I didn't know that DDMW had a (what I am sure is a better) kit coming, I would have been all over it. It's perfect for the budget oriented enthusiast.

Does the zzp even fit on 15 inch rims?

I have no doubt that the ddm will be the better kit. I'm comparing the fact of, am I going to be able to get part( calipers and pads) in 5-8 years.

DDM is using the factory disc dimensions and Wilwood calipers, I'm sure you'll be able to find parts down the road. Just get a part number for the pads in the beginning and if you're scared buy 4 or 5 sets (which you'll probably sell most with the brake kit when you return the car to stock to trade in/sell).

Good point rdss. I plan on running the sonic to the ground, so no trade in for me.

I might do what you said and buy a couple extra sets if pads when I buy it.

Last time I asked Dave, he said the R&D was complete and that the production pieces are in the works. I'd guess that we may see something within a month.

They need to hurry up. I may have finally warped a rotor. At 29k miles the pads are in fantastic condition, but if I have to pull everything apart to do rotors, why not upgrade while in there??

You can get the upgraded rotors for now and just call Dave when the calipers come out and pick them up

I am going to hold out as long as I can as I have limited time for working on the car. I do not want to pull it all apart now and then again whenever the calipers are released. I have had 3 days off since June 24th, and as a result have neglected a few things I should not have. I suspect I will have plenty of time in the fall though.

Stoping on the street and on the track are two different things.

Being able to go into a turn that much longer before you have to brake can make add up tenths of a sec
