Well, there were a few factors:
- had a blind date, which turned out quite good
- Saturday was a great, warm day, so I got some riding in (nearly ate **** on a round-about, tough. Felt my front tire start to wash out when leaned over and I'm not sure how I saved it. I suspect an oil or diesel slick that I didn't see).
- Kawasaki approved teardown and top end rebuild on my bike, so Saturday afternoon my bike went into another dealer, who right away told me that he'll probably need to put in a new cylinder, piston and rings, whereas initially, when the top end was done 2,000 miles ago, they didn't even measure the cylinder. The current shop is sure that the cylinder is out of round - forums support that - with many having experienced the same thing. I will know more details this week; I was told the rebuild would take about a week. This week's going to be rainy, so the downtime seems to have timed itself perfectly.
- Sunday I got some awesome hiking in with the dog - felt great. Finished the day with a whole large gourmet veggie pizza and a couple beers.
