I will tell you now that a drive like that will make your life a B*T*H!!! I just moved due to my 140 mile round trip for work in Miami rush hour traffic and I'm sure it is comparable to yours. On Fridays it took me about 3 hours for the 70 mile return trip home and a record of 5.5 hours on a rainy Friday drive home.

For every 5 days I went to work I spent 24 hours in the car, that is a 1 day loss every week to driving at a tune of about 45 days per year just driving for work. My relationship felt it, my waistline felt it, my anger level felt it and I was hating getting up every day knowing what was ahead of me. I put 36,000 miles on my car in about 7-8 months also ensuring that I will have this car till it dies on me because resale will be dismal.

Now we have moved and her drive stayed the same but mine went from hour half each way to a 30 min each way and things couldn't be better. I was able to do it for about 8 months before I had to sit her down and say I couldn't do it anymore and another 4 months to move so one year was my limit.

Good luck as it sounds like a great opportunity to get ahead in life but don't let it ruin who you are because a drive like that will wear on even the strongest person.

I used to have to use an Imac at work. I got out of it and am the only one using a OC'd home built PC.

And I have less problems and by far have the fastest computer which is a damn shame. I'm running almost a 100% overclock.

I've heard others make the same claims.

Its a shame for many years Adobe had 64bit software on PC and only 32bit on mac and both use the same processors and hardware.

Have they even upgraded mac as of yet? :banana:


Being I work with many mac lovers I've heard it all and "they are better for photo editing" is the oldest excuse in the world and MAY have been true years ago but certainly not anymore. Both run the same exact hardware and OSX can be run on a PC for 1/4 the price.

I'm not saying to work at a ****ty job. Just saying that sometimes there are better options you might not have seen. That management job was one of my favorite jobs ever. I had excellent benefits, loved my employees and my loyal locals. Many people told me that the place improved by leaps while I was there, and that it went downhill again after I left.

I was on track being trained by the owner himself and next in line for the store manager position. The only reason I'm not flying to conferences in the boss' private plane is we moved.

Not really.

I'm the kind of person who does not do one thing for 30 years. I've had an adventurous career life. I've learned so many skills that most people can't say. Fast food, cabinetry, paint line, CDL (with air brakes no less), and now I'm continuing that adventure with nursing. Nursing is a profession where I can have many adventures.

Just what I'm saying is.. Don't get stuck wasting your time away at work. Like you said.. Do what you love and you'll never work again. It starts with don't do things that suck and waste your life away on it.

When I was in the carpenters union for the whole 1.5 years I was in I worked for one contractor for just over a year.

I'll be honest, I'm pretty sure it was more because I was cheap then it was I was good.

Clean rooms are normally controlled environments. Ours are always 68 degrees +/- a degree or two
