Hmm. Never seen/ heard of the Ampera. Honestly, I'm just disappointing in the ELR. IMO, the the technology/capacity of the vehicle should have been notably improved before branding it a Cadillac.

I'll admit I don't know as much about the ELR as I do the volt, but I have been told both inside and outside the company that they're basically identical, in a driveline/performance/range manner. To the point where all the manufacturing deadlines and metrics were the same between the two.

As far as I can tell the only difference is the ELR is a coupe and has some insanely heavy wheels and tires. A $75k two door hybrid Cruze is a little outrageous.

My thoughts as well. Yeah, there's the creature comfort aspect of a nice Cadillac that is only matched in select other offerings, especially within GM. But they are usually accompanied with top end parts in the rest of the vehicle as well- like the last Escalade I looked at was the 6.2L and 6L80E, basically GM's best truck engine/trans (sans diesel). No such improvements on the ELR sadly.

That said....I would drive the **** out of a Dmax Escalade!

Didnt have anything better to do today so I decided to try making some bread and a pie again.

Its a French bread recipe and it came out decent. I might try Italian bread next time though, assuming I can find a recipe for it.

Botched the crust a little on the pie and it did split in one spot and didnt have enough coverage in another. I used shortening instead of butter, which may have resulted in a more fragile crust. Should be cutting into it soon. Havent had an apple pie since the fall and it sounded like a good idea.

I used one of those for a while after buying my house. Toaster oven,mini fridge, and a microwave. Oh yeah, and a propane camp stove that I would use on top of the electric stove that I disabled due to how it was wired.

Now I use a gas stove/oven, full size fridge, and the same microwave. Cant really cook a pie in a toaster oven.

Question.. Last week I noticed the right side of my bumper where it connects to the wheel well is popped out.. When I push it back in it won't stay it just poppes back out.. I looked and the screws are all in there..

My bumper is like that, too, on the same side as well. When my front end was taken apart at 2000 miles to fix the subframe issue, the alignment was never 100%. Mine's not as noticeable as yours.

My point is, it could probably be realigned correctly if you want to spend time and money on it.

Ok, guys. I've been struggling with this for a while.

I'm going up north to visit my folks in a few days. I would like to bring a nice gift with me. Budget is up ta couple hundred bucks and I prefer something both can use.

Last year I bought them Roku and they love it. They are older folks, don't go out much. My dad's retired and my mom still works. They live modestly and aren't rich by any stretch of imagination.

Need gift ideas. I've been pondering this for weeks now and I'm terrible at gifting.

Only thing that popped into my mind is a decent bluray player that can also do things like Netflix. They can be had for $100-$150 and are usually easier to use and faster than a Roku at the same thing.

Do they have a decent TV?

I have had several rokus, still have one in the kitchen and our Sony Bluray players are much faster and easier to use. Often easier is a big plus for older people, especially if it means not switching between two devices.

Digital picture frame that could load with all kinds of pics for them and add any they have at home when you get there.

Fruit of the month of they live up north and enjoy fruits. (this also works with wine, meats, etc)

Like ChrisJ said, maybe a new TV with all the features built in like netflix wifi etc. 32" Samsung on Amazon for $199 right now.

One of those Sharper Image air purifiers fan so they can breathe easy.

Can also get them an experience like a hot air balloon ride, sunrise/set airplane flight. I did the sunrise airplane ride with my fiance and it was pretty fun.

I don't want to outright ask them, so I may have to see for myself when I get there and order them a new TV.

Blueray might be a good idea, but I don't think they would get any more benefits out if it vs. Roku. They are used to the Roku by now anyway.
