There hasn't been one made. The only mesh grill I've built was the double weave aluminum one for YosemiteSam.

Originally these were going to be built to order but I do see potential client concerns of not seeing the product before being built. Those who have trusted my instinct and work have been very please so far. I might have a solution to this problem.

I'm finally winding down with teaching for the year and Summer allows me to spend more time on side projects/work. I will be building a limited run of 10 grilles to show "possibilities". They will likely range depending on material, finish and complexity from $300-$400.

If anyone is seriously interested in 1 of these limited run grilles, please contact me with material you'd like to see built.

Agreed, Its pretty close to the same size as the stock grill hex. I was thinking of possible offering "lower only stacheless grills" Trim would be different unfortunately.

Well I have an RS and the rs grill hex is blocked on on certain parts about where the stache is on the other models as seen below

Would be nice to have a more open front grill and it be a little smaller and thinner. But I'm stuck till you find an RS donor grill. opcorn:

Stayed late at worked and zipped up 2 sets of beveled trim and an extra special beveled trim for my new grill. Still debating on which type of fasteners I want to add all the way around.

Beastlick - impressive work, and very reasonable pricing considering all the work you have to put into these!

What are your thoughts on the feasibility of magnetic sheet cutouts that could be used to block off the grill? I'm thinking for purposes like aerodynamics/mpg improvement and winter warm-up, like how some people put cardboard in front of their radiator in winter, except it would be a simple and classier looking magnetic sheet. The regular grill material would need to be one of the flatter designs of course, like the slotted or perf. I'm assuming those are made of a ferrous material, so magnets would stick?

Does that sound doable? Would you have a source to offer that with it, or maybe simply be able to supply a template for the shape of the two halves of the grill for some DIY? Any/all for a bit of extra cost, of course. Bonus if a pattern could be printed on the inserts.

Excellent idea which is very feasible with fasteners rather than magnets. All the mesh, other than my first 2 prototypes use aluminum perf or aluminum wire weave.

I could easily add threaded inserts inside of the mounting tabs and provide an ABS blank which could be screwed in to block off the vents in winter months.

I could do it for upper and lower behind ANY mesh and still provide an opening in the lower to make sure the intercooler gets all the air it needs. After I finish up these grills for paid clients as well as one for my sonic, I'll make up a test set of block off plates.
