I finally got around to getting a decent picture of the grille. Good thing because it rained just enough the next day to make everything dirty again.
I'm very happy with how subtle it looks from a distance. The all matte black looks uniform and very dark from far away, but once you get close, you can easily see the white fangs (as I call them) and the intercooler and everything else inside. Oh, and I plasti-dipped the crash beam black while I had the bumper off which helps keep a really clean look.

The plastic can be vapor plated just like the stock trim but one-zy/two-zy pieces are not cost effective at all to produce.
This grill was created by chopping out the center of a stock grill. He wanted to keep his "Z-spec" trim on this build. This is the only grill I've produced other than my original that reuses the stock trim.

uhm, sorry for being noob...what's the "black hole" for?Gloss black GT perf - trim is still unpainted but its coming together quite nicely.

As John mentioned, its a temp sensor port. You all have one on your stock grill as well but its hidden in one of the openings. With purchased mesh, its a little trickier to disguise it. Some mesh looks odd with visible plastic behind it so this feature was embellished as it does serve function.
The stock grill has open access to the sensor. Ideally this would still be left open for the most true reading as well as cleaning ease.
I have built Yosemite Sam's port to go behind the grill and not protrude through. Main reason was to keep the wires from falling out of position if cut.
This community IS my market. If having a visual port isn't desired, please be sure to mention it as design should allow for "change".

With paint and new style temp port. Consider the First RS replacement stacheless grill: COMPLETE
Here's how I handled the temp port. Simple "Z" bracket to make sure no debris or moisture sits in a pocket anymore.
These pieces were all machined which isn't very cost effective. I need to get 5 people interested in an RS replacement to justify getting sets of tabs lasered out. Pm me directly and I can add you to the list. Mesh options are still completely custom tailored to your liking.
