I concur with River Rats assessment.
I can understand annoyance at the situation, but contemplating getting rid of a car for, 4 rather minor issues is a bit puzzling. You realize you also bought a 1st year production car aswell, right?
Now the sway bar links are junk, as you've already discovered. GM revised the links early this year. There better but still of poor design; a design most manufacturers have now switched, non serviceable and plastic, so lose lose. Depending on when you got the 2nd set replaced they might last awhile..... Personally when I replace mine $50 dollars is being invested in a set of greaseable and still Moog links that will last the life of the car.
Definitely annoying to go in even once for something like this. But It's what consumers want, components they don't have to service and lots of features for cheap. Guess where O.E.M.s save the cost difference?
The tech, or more likely oil change monkey forgetting/not knowing to reset the light is also annoying. But if that's all they forgot, no big whoop. It's a very easy process to reset in the sonic and I'll list the steps to do it, should you wish to do it before your scheduled appointment.
-Start with the car stopped and key to "run" (engine on or off).
- Hit "menu" on the stalk until you get settings or oil life to display (there's three different things menu cycles thru. Top right display for MPG, etc. Bottom right display for Odo/trip. And finally the one with Settings, Oil life, etc.)
-once you've got the middle display you may have to scroll thru the options to reach the oil display. Use the"ring" on the turn signal stalk to scroll. Just twist it up or down.
- Once oil life or code82 is displayed press and hold the "reset" button until 100% oil life displays.
For the record can happen at any dealer, It has even happened on $100k BMW 7 series. The tech might not know how to do it, forget, be incompetent, etc.
I'm curious how many miles you put on between oil changes? Do you just go until the monitor reaches 0%?
Did you mention the codes when you went in for service (if they were on at the time)? If not they won't check them unless you mention it.
Other than that I can't comment any further on the codes over what Rivet Rat said. Take it to the dealer and see what they can do.
And yes Chevy has a 5yr 100k mi powertrain warranty, which covers engine, trans, and anything that would cause a CEL.. Then there's the 3yr 36k mi bumper to bumper warranty that covers most everything else.
Pretty much all the o.e.m.s besides Ford offer comparable warranties.
