Glove Box handle broke, 3rd time I've touched it

So yesterday was my car's 1 year birthday. The first time I opened the glove box (lower), was to put my registration in there when I bought the car. The second time I opened it was 8 months later when I put my phone charger and some cherry scent spray in there. The 3rd time was this morning when I went to take out the cherry spray and put my phone charger in there. The latch just snapped, and now it's totally disconnected and have no way of getting in the glove box.

I'm amazed at how cheap the plastic is, and how little effort was given to break it. I go in for my 3rd oil change this Friday, maybe the stealership can figure that one out. Anyone else have this happen or am I all alone?

Same thing just happened to me. I was about to post a thread until I saw this. I literally never use the damn thing.

I use mine all the time with no issues. It's stuffed full with everything lol. It's not uncommon in any car to have a broken glove box handle. Virtually every make has the same issue. I haven't seen many complaints about it.

One of the issues I had when I used to work at the dealership as a technician, was people opening the glove box from the driver side and pulling on one side of the handle to open it. When they pulled from the drivers side, they would only grab the handle from the left side of it and snap it off like a twig.

I use both of mine almost weekly and have had no issues with either. [emoji56]
