I thought that pulling should easily give you a half inch of clearance

update guys: still waiting for my wheels to come from the UK, BC BR type coilovers laying on bed waiting for install and wheels. Stand by for total chaos I will make a Boosted Build thread when I get everything on it will be worthy then in my opinion!

How much stretch are you looking for? Because unless you go Falken 512/FP7000 205/40 or smaller, you're not gonna get much of a stretch IMO. (and 205/40's might make the wheels look small...)
205/45 would probably be best for you. (As seen on ZachTullier's car.)

^ please don't do that. it only looks decent on certain cars, and sonic isnt one of them.

sorry dude just being honest.
only time ive seen it look decent is when the rest of the rear had a flare or widebody to accompany and the cars actually had work done in the fenderliner and ducting for aero on a time attack car. i hate when i see this at a car show and its just "there" nothing else, just that. makes no sent. that and you are going to eventually wrinkle the metal at the top of the fender. lol

No worries. Makes sense since it would throw off the body lines of the Sonic.

I'm not really into that, but I appreciate the suggestion.
I remeasured some things after getting my alignment done, and I *might* be able to run them at 9". If I do that then the 225s and 245s I'm gonna run will have almost exactly the same amount of "stretch" albeit minimal.
It woul clear by 5mm. Don't know if that's enough though.

i had to put a tiny spacer on the front wheels to keep the brake from touching the back side of the wheel!

Exactly. The Sonic's inner fenders are very flat and vertical from the factory so you just need to take a bit off that bead of sealer to open up room. Depending on how low you go the inner fender liner mounting points may also become an issue.
