Where did you buy your HID kit and how much were they also if you are looking into changing your fog lights i found a brand call bling lights if anyone has used them im wondering how well they work

Haha seriously bling lights!!! Sounds bad lol. But I have used a
Place called BuyHids.com!! Good place offers a lifetime warranty. And slim ballast and regular!!

Sonic, Im not Shoving anything any where? im simply looking to find a company that actually makes the entire unit thats retrofit for my brights... i am constantly flashed with just my low beams on and i wud love to be able to hit soomeone at over a 1/4 mile away wen they flash me w some bright as retrofitted hid light

Just like on other car forums, NASIOC for example, there will be dozens of people who put poorly designed "one size fits all" HID kits in their stock housings. They will do this because they don't have the money to do it properly, don't care about other motorists, and just want the "OMG my lights are so cool" factor on their car.

As soon as it starts, the smart members on the forum will tell these people how irresponsible they are, a flame war will ensue, and the thread will be locked. Watch. It's coming.

There may be other sources for complete change of headlights, but this should do for a start and to show it is possible.

Of course it can be done Laborsmith. But the majority of people who are doing this for all the wrong reasons won't do it properly. The site you referenced appears to be a good source for the equipment to do it properly, but again, it's not cheap and it takes time and patience and skill. The "ricers" as they are commonly referred to as, simply want the ballast and bulb and they put that in their stock housing. Very few go to the proper length and change out the entire unit to get the proper cut off and performance.

Good point, Sonic. I imagine we both have had our fill of people posting on numerous car enthusiast forums (the Sonic's newness means our turn is waiting in the wings) about their great $49 ebay hid deal and then a year or less later posting questions about why their headlights go out while they are driving down a back country road in the middle of the night OR complaining that on coming drivers keep flashing their lights at them disturbing their ability to make use of their super great new headlamps.

Since it can be done right, I believe it is appropriate that people know how to do it right. Or, at least, know what can happen if they decide to do it wrong.

I hope it doesn't happen to anyone on here, but let everyone be warned that other motorists flashing their highbeams at you should be the least of your worries after you install HIDs into your factory housings.

It is a known fact that installing HID lights into headlight housings and lights not intended for HID use, such as your FOG LIGHTS, can cause car fires. I will get the pics and info from a few threads on NASIOC. I don't have the time right now.

Yep, that too. Puts a little perspective on saving a few hundred bucks, and I would not be a bit surprised if the insurance company that covered the damage (if they covered it) did not move one to high risk.

I do think the 3000K would look good in the lows and fogs of an IOM Sonic.

I enjoyed reading all of these, bc alot of people around this area do that with their vehicles. Annoying when they drive by me, haha but to each there own!! So does anyone know when different headlight options are gonna be coming out.!

ok guys i have been away but im back home and i can answer questions. the HIDs have been great. the glare you see from the picture is because of my camera phone. i will take picture of the lights turned on and beam them on my garage wall to see the results. i myself do see a difference in that i see further down the road. i will never buy HIDs from ebay because you can never trust the product. if they do make a full housing to replace the oem's then i will buy a pair.

The highbeams are H7's right? If so I actually have a DDM 35W 4300k H7 kit in the basement I could pop in just for photo purposes. Its left over from when I had retrofitted my old Buell Lightning.

the bulbs are H11 and 9005. a new stylin headlight design would be nice a well. i do like the oem's .
