Ive yet to see one that actually comes with the axxess box for the steering wheel controls. The more expensive one has extra connections for your auxilary connections, onstar, etc. it has a harness for the steering wheel control unit but not the unit itself.

The one that I bought back when I first made this thread included the Axxess box as well. :banana:

I purchased the LC Metra kit the first time around and returned it because it didn't have the axcess box as the auction stated. I searched high and low before I found it for $140 and not the LC version

Different part numbers are different dash kits. The LC is a cheaper kit and does not have axcess box. Google

Either that or you bought a returned kit that someone stole the axcess box out of it. What part number is your kit?

Any word of a specific dash kit coming out for the RS model? Mine has the piano key black dash and the standard dash kit would be a downgrade and not look right. If there is no option I may have a local body shop see if they can paint to match..

Havnt personally seen one. Id just paint it to match. Pretty easy.

I gotta sacrifice my awesome unused card holder????!!! NOOOO!!!! im thinking of being cheap and just cutting the dimentions to fit, sanding down and painting myself to save like $80 bucks.... maybe it wouldn't look too bad...
i need something to hold my dam subway card. lol

edit: i could care less for onstar, would the LC version of the metro kit allow the steering buttons to work as long as its including the AXXESS box?

exactly! im looking for just the axxess and speaker adapter. I only Bluetooth my phone so idc abt anything else like ant or ipod ****. n I nvr noticed the usb in the upper glove box o.o convenient.

The axxess adapter by itself is most of the price. Most of out gm harnesses with the boxes are over $100. Your better off just buying the kit and harness for 85 bucks off ebay. Save the time of sanding and painting.

Does anyone know if you can buy the original MyLink HU that comes in the LTZ sonics by itself? I'm dumb and didn't even think of having them include it on my LS when I purchased it. And I didn't realize my HU didn't have RCA connections for my amp. I'm wanting my HU to be the same as the stock one preferably.

And also would I still need to purchase the installation kit if I were to get my hands on the original touchscreen HU?

I don't have a part number, but, Chevy is in business to make money...

I wouldn't think the harness into your current unit would require much modification.... It wouldn't make sense from a modular build perspective... Call your dealership.

Well I have l have knowledge on how to install the HU. I did it in my previous car without a single problem. I'm just hoping I can find it cheap and do it on my own. But if it's cheaper to go through the dealership in the end then i'll just go about it that way.

I bought this same kit but as they are messing with the wires and getting them all put together my uncle finds a relay in the kit and he read the install directions many times and it does not say anything about it.. is it suppose to be used or was it in the kit by mistake?
