There is a auto volume feature in MyLink. It adjusts the stereos volume according to the noise outside.
To me the stereo sounds better.

Also doesn't it only chime like 3-4 times then stops completely?? My fiances Honda starts to chime the instance the belt is removed and nonstop every 30 seconds till car is put into park or you put the belt on. At least the Sonic isn't like that.
It's 4-5 times then quiet for about 10 min then 4-5 more chimes. Then that's it. If it was every 30 seconds I'd have a junk yard clip in mine. I know 3 people who would have died if they were wearing there seat belts and 1 who did die because she was wearing her seat belt. 2 of the survivors were ejected from 1 car. The other was partially ejected (upper body went through the roof of his vette when he slid sideways into a telephone pole. The drivers seat was on top of the folded passenger seat. He hit the pole with he drivers side. The girl who died was strapped into a jeep wrangler that rolled over. Everyone was ejected but her.
No need to cut or jump wires to get it to stop chiming they make blanks tha you just clip in and they don't look to bad either, better than placing a cut out of a junk car one in.

I drove a tow truck at night years ago. Their were quite a few fatalities. Some wearing the seat belt some without. I'm a firm believer in when its your time its your time.I was a bouncer at a wild night club for many years. I'd leave last, and was the first at many accidents. Some pretty bad. I did see a few who were thrown out and survived, but just as many the other way around. I think when it's time, it's time. I wear mine always with the kids in the car. I want to keep control as long as possible if something should happen. But, there are times when I am alone, in wicked slow traffic, and I want to be able to move around and do things better. Only reason I am just looking for a cheap, simple way to stop the chimes in those situations
As other people said, they only come on twice, and I am getting use to it, but I do wear them 80% of the time and believe that it's safer with than without.
Here is a list of such features on the Cruze. Many apply to the Sonic and Many do not.
Yes, I have posted this on this forum before.
Had to delete some. Too long.
2. The centre console slides forward if you press the latch and pull. It makes things more comfortable. Just remember to slide it back when you want to open it.
6. You can set the car to unlock all doors when pressing the remote unlock just once. This option is in the configurations menu.
8. There's a hook to hold 1-2 bags on the left side inside the trunk.
12. The automatic transmission shifts into N by itself when stopped with your foot on the brakes for more than a few seconds. This is why the car rolls back a few inches if you're on a hill and you lift your foot off the brake. If you lift your foot off the brake slowly you can actually roll back for quite some time, so be careful.
16. The radio volume can correct itself automatically based on road noise and speed. This setting exists in the configuration menu.
18. If you forget your turn signal on for too long as you're driving you will receive a message on your DIC and a dinging warning. It's not very loud though, but if you constantly look down at your screen you'll notice the message.
22. If your windshield wipers are on for more than 20-30 seconds, the exterior lights will automatically turn on. Your interior lights will stay at the same dimness unless it's dark out, they they will change accordingly. This feature is because in certain states, it is required by law to have your lights on when the wipers are on.
25. If you leave your car for days w/o starting it will go on battery saving mode and when you start your car you will see the battery light logo. To remove this after you start the car turn the key again like as if you are starting it and hold it there until the logo disappears.
39. Apparently the windows will not crush your fingers if you go to close them and there's fingers in the way. They will reverse back down. I haven't tried this yet. Anyone wanna be the guinea pig? (I have confirmed this feature but it only works with the express up feature. If you hold the button and put your fingers there the window will still go up until you release the button...it hurts!)
40. If you only press the lock once on the FOB the car locks but waits about 30 seconds to arm the alarm system. The horn wont go off. Pressing the lock twice will arm immediately, and honk the horn for confirmation.
45. The doors lock automatically when the car is put into D (depending on the settings you have). To open any door without unlocking the entire car simply pull the door handle twice. The first pull will unlock, the second pull will open the door. This won't work for the back doors if the child lock is engaged. (Warning: this works even when the car is in motion... Yes, I tried it...)
I think some things just do too much thinking for us. Same with the light set-up. I live in a pretty dense area, and if I park a certain way, my lights go into someones apartment. Too many times I turn it on, or the wipers, and I am not going anywhere right away. I would have preferred a position where I could have manually set the lights off and they stay off, even with the key being cycled.
not sure if this was said but be very careful if you use the rear wiper feature, if there is ice and rear wiper is frozen to the back glass it could break something, not sure but there could be a safety feature to prevent this,
Have you tried moving the headlight knob momentarily to the far left 'OFF' position when in the scenario you described? I suspect that would disable the lights being on with the wipers, but have never tried it.
Honestly, I applaud GM for forcing the lights to turn on because today's average motorist is a complete moron when it comes to proper light usage. Just because THEY can see, they do not find it necessary to turn on the lights. Especially in the rain. So I think it's not a bad idea that the car does more thinking than the driver.
DRL's without automatic headlight control have also contributed to the dumbing down of society. Couple those with gauge clusters that are lit all the time and people instantly assume that because they can see in front of them at night and they can see their gauges then the rest of their lights must be on. GM had the foresight to attempt to protect these idiots from themselves by offering standard automatic light control, if only other manufacturers would follow suit...
It does.. The bolts are designed to loosen up.. Learned the hard way when my wiper flew off.
I don't think that was a safety feature. They should have a circuit breaker built in to the motor.
