So here is my experience thus far including back story.
So we went to David Maus because they had an internet special for like 13,500 for a 13 sonic ls manual. On the way there we did a trucar for a 14 which was only $74 off the price of the car. On the way we got a call from the dexter the sales man (we have no problems with him) because of the truecar and we explained that we were really interested in the 13. He said he wasn't sure they still had any but he would check before we got there.
We get there and dexter tells us they dont have any 13's left in manuals, not that big of a deal. We couldn't find a manual hatchback at all, so we test drove a sedan and we kept looking. We finally found one that had not been PDI'ed yet (still covered in plastic) and decided that would be the one. Now since the car had not been PDI'ed yet obviously nothing had been done to it yet, so we told them we wanted no added on warranties or protections. They come back with the paper work and its obviously way too much and send it back and tell them again we dont want those things. It comes back and its much lower this time and they said they took it off. Its late at night around 11 i think and we have been at dealerships all day so we sign and come back the next day to pick up the car.
About a week or 2 after we get our paper work in the mail and realize 2 things, 1) there is still a road hazard for 699 that we didn't want and 2) the price of the car is about 700 more then it should be. So I play phone tag with John the finance guy for a few days and when i get a hold of him he says he can take the 699 off but the price of the car is a sales issue and we should talk to dexter. Well dexter's and my work schedule are about the same so it takes almost a week to get a hold of him and when I do he says he will look into it. The next day we decide to just go down and talk and also pick up the tag. We see Dexter and he says he will get someone to talk to us about it and we wait over an hour for John to come up and say "you picked the absolute worst day to come, I told you sales needs to deal with this" I told him we told sales you said that and he sits us in the front lobby. Another 15-20 minutes later Melvin McCune shows up and tells us that he is 3rd in charge and asks us what the issue is. After we start trying to explain he points at the date of purchase and we in turn point at the postmark date on the envelope. We tell him we want to know why the price is so much higher then it should be and he states its because of some zatek paint treatment, which we have no paperwork on and the price of the car is not itemized. We tell him we told them we didnt want any of those things and he told us "well I've got both your signatures here and points at them". I tried to explain how it was late and we had already sent the numbers back and they said it was taken care of, but all i got out was "we were here late..." and he cuts me off and says "I'm here late every night!" My wife then asks "so your not going to do anything?" He then jumps up, yells no, and walks away. In shock we ask Dexter about the tag and Melvin yells angerly from across the show room that the tag place is only open mon-fri. We then ask Dexter if it would be possible to talk with the GM and Melvin then barks at Dexter as if he was his dog that they are done and he isn't allowed to talk to us.
It's important to note that I am a very calm person and never once raised my voice nor did my wife until after Melvin yelled at Dexter and my wife was very upset as we left the dealership.
Melvin McCune is a very unprofessional person and came off as a stereotypical sleazeball sales manager.
We have contacted Chevy directly in hopes to resolve this, but I'm not sure anything short of Melvin McCune loosing his job would have us ever go back to David Maus. I will update if anything changes.
