How do I turn off the door ajar bell?

So I noticed today, at the carwash, that when I am in Aux Power ( power on/ engine off) and I open my driver door the little bell rings (cause my keys are in it?) right, BUT it never turns off. So if I want to have my door open and listen to the radio I can't. I can't find out how to stop this madness.

Why can't I mute the ding sound? I can turn it up but not down or off.

Funny thing is, its only the drivers door... when the other doors are opened (with driver closed) the ringing stops after 5secs or so.

It just doesnt' make sense to me.
Is there a way to do this that I am over looking?

So I assume you have MyLink. If so, when you open the door with the keys OUT the radio will turn off.... but if you push the on button it will give you another 10 minutes(?).

Wish there was a way to mute or even turn down the volume of the driver door chime .

There are two volumes for the chimes... Excessively loud and blow out your eardrums loud. You may want to go through the vehicle personalization settings on MyLink and make sure it isn't the latter.

But it's probably on the lower setting already if I had to guess. :sadbanana:

Yes, this chime is to remind you that your keys are in the ignition so you will not lock your keys in the car. As ColonelPanic stated, you can not turn it off but just make sure the volume is on normal and not high.

In your owners manual on page 5-26 it shows you how to access this choice.

Chime Volume
This allows selection of the chime
volume level.
Press MENU/TUNE when Chime
Volume is highlighted. Turn the
MENU/TUNE knob to select Normal
or High. Press MENU/TUNE to
confirm and go back to the
last menu.

BUT there is no mute-
and it never stops beeping -
-- most key reminders stop reminding after 30 seconds.

I just think it's silly that this goes on forever.
And the powerful control center doesn't allow for driver customization---
an added "mute" option or an
" end key reminder after 15secs " option would be a nice addition in the future.

I guess it was more of an observation/suggestion then a question .

I have three or four other suggestions for improving the interior controls and customization as well --- if anyone is interested I'll share em.

I totally hear ya.

It'd be nice if GM went back to there "key reminder" only made noise when the key was mostly in (off position).

GM should go back to their old method of key in ignition reminders.
Used to be able to pull the key partway out and the noise would stop.
Didn't use to beep in the run position.
The reminder would go out after xx amount of time.

This is something that ford does.
