LAUNCHED- Forge 1.4T BPV and ATMOSPHERIC BOV **DIRECT FIT**

I read through the last couple of pages in this thread, and was wondering what's the 2 differences between the 2 different forge bovs? Right now I have the stock Bov and wanting to upgrade cause I lose boost pressure. I don't have a tune and probably won't get one till I'm at least 30k miles on my RS.

To recap, the Forge Recirculating BPV works just like the stock BPV by dumping boost back into the intake but is of better quality and the Forge Atmospheric BOV dumps the boost into the air and makes that BOV sound. You need a tune to run the atmospheric BOV.

I have ZZP intake, so I'm already getting the Bov sound from it. Just wanting to replace bov so that I can hold boost bat higher rpms.

When you go with the Forge atmospheric BOV (hybrid BPV), you absolutely get more noise, more so than just the vent of the stock BPV through the open intake. It's a loud burst of air and depending on conditions you'll get a fluttering burst.

Just out of curiosity.. With only the stock resonator on the exhaust system ( installed downpipe, test pipe, deleted factpry muffler) if i were to switch out the forge bov for the forge recirc. Would there be more turbo noise in the exhaust? Or would it not effect that at all?

There should be no change in turbo noise. When it going into boost the forge BOV is closed the same as their BPV.

I checked with forge motorsports and they said there comparing pics too see the diference

It may be a Cobalt SS valve. It is a larger valve than the 1.4.

Mine is a completely different valve, I ordered the atmospheric BOV. Here's what I had received.

Yea it's not, but bad news racing is definitely great, emailed them and they responded pretty quick saying that they would get the right one out to me, great customer service.

We were out of valves and had forge send one direct.... and this is what happened. Can't rely on anyone these days... LOL

We don't even sell that valve.. I'm not sure what they thought they were sending.

I have the Forge atmospheric BOV installed, and noticed it has 2 different springs to be installed, what would the difference between the two? I tried searching but don't want to read through the 58 pages to try to find the answer.

The yellow spring is an increased spring rate for running higher boost than what you will se with the stock 1.4T.

Since I have the tune should I put in the yellow one? Or leave the green one in there. It seems like the boost isn't holding.

I would data log the green spring set up before changing any springs and add the concern of boost in your notes. I as well as many others had/have had zero issues holding boost on the green spring that Forge intended to be used on the stock set up even at 22 psi. If you where consistently pushing 25-28 psi and had trouble holding boost I would say "yes, swap it out and log it". What are you using to see your boot drop? And something else to consider is you might be meeting your command trq and then the ECM pulls boost to maintain that power level. The weather is cooling off which will allow a mild tune to run lower psi to maintain the same power levels that take higher psi in the hot summer months.
