There is a right way to cut springs, and there is the way ricers do them. start with small cut's about an 1/8th to a 1/4 of a coil at a time keep putting them in and pulling them out until you get the desired drop but no more than 1 and 1/2 coils should be removed.
There really is no "right way" to hack up a spring/suspension and that's what you are doing, a hack job on the suspension to get it to be something that it was not designed or tested to be. But, if you're willing to put your life as well as the people around you on the line go for it. Like everyone else stated, they do not ride right because they see all the ricer doing it and I don't care how you cut it, it causes heat in the steel and changes the elasticity (rebound of the metal, just like poping a dent, every time you do it it will pop in and out easier only fatuging the metal more) of the metal no matter what.
But, once again, if you're willing to reduce the drivability and feel that it is safe and will get that loud and low look you're going for go for it, it's your car and no one elses............
