Job Update
I am officially employed again. The best part is, I'm back where I was! So I'm super happy to have a job, a job I love, and to have cash flow again.

Build Update
That being said, I will be saving up for a Pioneer AVH-P8400BH and will be getting rid of that POS Jensen headunit. I wish I had saved the first time.
I'll also be running my power wire, ground, and RCAs to my trunk tomorrow.

Hey that's great news! Woot lol.

My buddy always says he's too poor to by cheap stuff... I hear you with respect to the saving. I think I might just do that very thing myself when it comes to my audio.

Well.

We finished, and I had everything playing, but then when it was time to go home, it wouldn't turn on. The amp, not the car. It was too late to keep working, so I guess it's just gonna have to ride like that for a while before I get it fixed.

This blows.

I've come to the conclusion that I believe my RCAs are grounding out on something behind the radio. Stupid me didn't cover some exposed metal on the RCA end with anything...

That would send the amp into protect mode..it should make the amp not turn on. I would check your power wires. Make sure the fuse at the battery is ok..it may not look blown..we get that alot..Check your ground and accessory. If you know someone with a digital multimeter they can tell you in a sec whats wrong.

Yeah after I had said that I realized I was wrong. I'll grab my brothers multimeter on the way to figure it out.

You have any ideas. Here's what's going on...
When I'm sitting still, it plays fine. But as soon as I start driving, its cuts out. I can't make any sense of it at all...

Id make sure the ground and power wire are all attatched good..Make sure the ground bolt is tight, make sure the fuse holder is screwed in good..Make sure the connection at the battery is good and tight.It could be the movement shaking something loose. Id also see about changing your accessory..where did you connect that?

Right now acc from the head unit runs to the dash kit box, then the acc from that goes to my amp.

If the power/ground are fine, should I try running remote straight from the HU?

I'll use a multimeter first to see if the remote wire is getting a signal at all.

Yea test it first...The amp turn on wire is blue/white..If it doesnt have voltage which sometimes they decide not to work, 1. make sure the amp setting is turned on in the menu of the head unit..2. if still no signal hook it to the red accessory wire from the headunit. Let me know if that helps!

Ahhhh I wish I didnt just type all that lol...Yea i figured as much..glad all went well.

Figured I'd post a quick little update before I head to bed.

I will be installing HIDs soon, an intake, and then possibly tinting and some type of exhaust system.
Next step is a tune.
After that comes coilovers, followed by a full audio install.
Rims are in the mix as well.

Time to get the ball rolling on this build again.

In the coming weeks/months I will be molding a Nexus 7 in my dash as my head unit. I'm pretty excited to see how this goes.
