Wheels are on!

Got them installed today, no problem at all, totally...TOTALLY changes demeanor of car...it's more flush, lower and feels more substantial (that's what she said......)
Off with the old...

In with the new!

The last big thing is the muffler & tip...I ordered the wrong muffler (argh!!!!) so there will be a slight delay... Magnaflow all the way!!!

More when it's done!

Turn Signals and Fog Lights Redux

Painted the turn signals yellow (like Black Turbo LTZ) and the rear turn signals too (I think I'm the first)..

Did a clear yellow vinyl overlay on the fog lights as I'm not sure of the heat range of the paint..

a little blurry, but doesn't it look like a frown!!

thanks... that paint is pretty nifty stuff. The vinyl was trimmed after I put it on... a hair dryer helps get the edges (you can't see) to bend and not wrinkle..

Next is the magnaflow muffler and magnaflow tip...then I'm done for awhile...

Once my warranty expires (in about 15 months) the quest for 200 hp will begin.

The Exhaust for the Quiet Man

I'm too old for the fart can, and don't want QUITE as much noise as the Borla or VCP systems...but dang they're nice!

I bought a Magnaflow muffler and tip and my local Meineke put it on (for $100)...total spent about $300 for all with install...

I'll always choose Magnaflow!

Pics make it look like it sticks out...it's just flush enough!


Sounds...well it's not loud really at all. You notice it idles just that much deeper and full throttle you can hear it more, but it's not in any way intrusive

How did we make it this far without camera/video phones!??!!

That now completes my mods for the time being. Next is engine enhancements...hopefully in 2015-2016.

I'm gonna enter the June SOM contest!

Painted the tires a little with some paint. It will eventually erode away, but it's cool for now!!!

I was thinking, if you really want a dramatic change to your front end, you should paint the fog bezels like I did....yours would really look awesome color matched to the red of your Sonic, and then the yellow fogs would REALLY stand out nice!! I color matched mine to the same metallic black that's used in the main light surround and the difference it made over just the black plastic look is unreal!!

ASA GT06's 17X8 (Tirerack $99 each!)

Just a white paint pen....the kind you shake that has a little ball in it...

I know Duplicolor makes something, but I just went with this...got it on eBay, but it's just a standard paint pen..any Hobby Lobby would have one.

I suspect it'll chip/erode off pretty quick.

Thanks, good idea but no.... The vinyl's holding up pretty well, and when I need to change/remove it, pretty easy to get to.

I'm a chrome'er... plus I'm about 1 too many colors right now
Red/Black/Yellow/Chrome (I know not a color!)...
Any more and it's overdone...

1day.....drove some...fine. rained like all hell last night....seems to be still there...

23.5 miles to work and 23.5 back... no problems. With my sidewalls, and 36PSI I don't get much flex...

Years ago (like 1991) I had an 84 GTI I painted the wheels the same way. it'd last about a month then chip off...

I takes about an hour to do sitting on your ass in the driveway. You can take the wheel off, but it's just as easy to lean in and paint.

I really really like those rims and tires. Is that color red hot. Looks just like my sonic. Ill post my before and after pics when I get my rims.. very very nice

It's Victory Red I believe. The wheels are 1/2 of the look. I'd get B&G lowering springs and 5mm spacers to make it complete. The ride is still quiet supple and the spacers push the wheels out just the right amount. IMHO
