Our early build LTZ is currently at the dealership having all the seats stripped of leatherette (vinyl) and cushions. They claim they are going to bag all the materials and see if that is the source of the smell. Personally, I'm confident GM knows this is the problem. Why would you pay a dealership to dismantle an interior if you didn't know what you're looking for?
I'm VERY concerned about how its going to look when we get it back. I have taken photos of all the seats before I delivered it the dealership.
I know this will resolve the issue, just fearful of the upholstery workmanship at the dealer...
I was really impressed that Chevrolet intervened through this forum, was truly concerned, and issued a case number for me to use at the dealership.
