Radio reading iPhone/iPod as USB device??

I have an iPhone 4 and when plugged into the aux port in the cubby it would read my phone as an iPod and I could browse my music, now it reads it as USB device or mp3 player and not play. I can stream via blu-tooth but don't have those browsing abilities. Anyone else have this issue?

You mean you have it plugged in via the USB port? I know that when you plug it in you can choose to eject it from the menu but normally that is something you need to do every single time not a permanent setting.

What exactly does it do when you plug it in? Will it recognize what's on it at all?

Went to double check and everything looked to be working as it should.....

It says "no aux device" and although it does charge my phone and sometimes reads as an iPod but sometimes doesn't. That's what it's doing now, and sometimes it says "reading USB" and never reads anything

Hmmmm....and are you using an actual Apple iphone cable or a copy brand? I doubt that's the issue but just checking.

It's an iPhone cable and it's the same one that worked in the past. Im contacting my dealer today about secheduling a service appointment for the 2nd gear grinding when I shift at 4k+

Switch the trans oil to Redline MT90. The 2nd gear grind is common. The thicker gear oil will solve it. I just did mine and the grinding is gone!

I'm taking it in this coming Saturday morning, hopefully I will be able to replicate the issue for the manager as I don't do hard 1st-2nd shifts after that grinding. Not sure if it only does it when fluids are cold or when they are hot....we'll see and I'll update

It's pretty common on the forum, and the fix is heavier weight transmission oil. 75w90, specifically.

Thank you kind Sir, I'm usually good at finding answers on the web, not in this case. Do you happen to know the solution to the slow/delayed throttle response? Do all sonics have that prob? I've been searching that too with no solution :-(

The solution to that is a tune. All Sonics have a mushy throttle; that's just by design.

Took it in, replicated the issue on test drive. Dealer said he's going to look for a service bulletin and talk to his rep.

Service guy called me back and he talked with GM tech support and they want him to get in another 1.4L 6 speed and see if that car does it. In the event it doesn't they will more than likely replace my transmission. I'm not sure if I want a car that needs a new tranny with 1.5K on it....I want to swap it for one that doesn't do that.
