Rear Wiper

Has anyone removed theirs, and if so ... what did you use to cover the hole or the post its attached to. I never will use mine and want to put something on the back window. Suggestions?

pull the wiper blade off and attach a American Flag. that way you can show your patriotism while driving down the road

I wouldn't even consider removing mine. I've never had a car that accumulated so much spray so fast on the back window. I wondered why there was a continuous setting for it until I drove it on the highway in a steady rain. I swear it was collecting water faster than the windshield. But, I see you live in Arizona... I guess you don't get much rain there?

i wouldn't put a flag on there with the amount of exhaust and dirt that got on my window b4 my exhaust and esp after, the flag will be ruined in weeks. which is why i never removed mine, when i get lazy and dont wash my car that window gets really dirty.

I think he was kidding about the flag . But yeah, not alot of rain in AZ. I too see alot of dirt accumulation on the hatch. I don't know, it was just a thought. Still undecided.

Rear Wiper Delete

I applied Rain-X on the car the second day I owned it. Never touched the rear wiper once, not even in 1" / Hour rains.

8 years with a wiper on the rear of my Mazda 3 hatch and it drives me crazy not having one on the rear window of my sedan. Yeah, I'll get used to it, but I still find myself reaching for the rear wiper switch when the back window is foggy or wet.

I've never had a rear wiper, and I'm quite content with wiping off the window by hand. It also was obstructing what little view there is in the hatch.

The more I think about this, the more it makes sense to me that someone would want to remove the rear wiper in a climate that doesn't see much rain and definitely no snow. If it's snowing, the rear window on a hatch gets covered constantly while driving, so it's necessary to be able to clear off the window instantly for safety reasons. The delay feature for the rear wiper comes in very handy in situation like that.

thats how it is in fayyettville too dude, its dusty n annoying, the design dosent help, the hatch gets destroyed within a day or 2 lol

i know i did it on my civic, they had plug kits too, or you could modify something yourself like i did.. i always thought cars with rear wipers were fancy, i like it when there is snow, otherwise, your just asking to scratch up your rear window.. plus.. weight reduction
