Good luck with the road salt in the winter.

I never use the rear wiper. All the dirt, salt and sand sits on it. Then when you wipe it, it scratches the glass.
I have a 2004 Mazda3 hatchback with a rear wiper that I used a LOT (and still do) and the glass doesn't have any scratches on it.
I have used mine about 15 times and I clearly have small scratches from it
Must be cheap ass glass that Chevy is using on the Sonic then.
I can't tell you how many times I've used the rear wiper to clear dust piled up from driving down dirt roads here in Michigan. And never has it resulted in scratched glass. I'd be pissed if I had a Sonic hatch and the glass got scratched that easily.
Well, to follow up my earlier comment about being pissed...I probably wouldn't be. My black car already looks like it has white freckles from all the chips, so a few minor (and mostly invisible) scratches on my rear window wouldn't really matter to me. I've already accepted the fact that the paint job on my Sonic is very poor, so how would a few insignificant scratches on the glass make any difference? You should see my hood...it ain't pretty.
