Recently developed 3rd gear troubles

The dealer is missing out. Marketing 101 is proper loaner can equal potential upsale. I could go on and on about dealers missing out on the low hanging fruit when it comes to customer service. It's all about the little things.

Transmission in, drove around no more popping out of third, feels smooth, nice to not have to skip a gear anymore. Icy conditions so I couldn't really play, but I drove over an hour with lots of shifts also didn't manage to get any grind noises.

Also, signed for the car and walked out with no charge, full coverage by the warranty. Proof of concept.

Back to the dealer with a possibly related problem, got a bit of a brush off; they said that the problem might go away after the transmission had worn in a bit, and at any rate they had not been paid by GM for the repair, it had been flagged "on hold". A bit ominous. Went back today and was told that yes, they had finally been paid, on the 27th.

So yes, dealer did actually come thru on a repair despite me being open about my mods, and yes, GM did actually come thru as well.

On the other hand, still not too sure about the M32 transmission, since the replacement seems to be having troubles of its own.

The M32 is a piece of econo-crap, in my opinion. There is no pilot bearing system whatsoever, so it's no surprise that it is fragile about above stock power levels. The shaft bearings have too much responsibility.

I imagine within a couple years, GM will have to address the issue to save face, until then, as far as the M32 is concerned....... smoke'em if you got'em.

I for one do not like smokeing.
I concur that the M32 is thus far proveing to be lack luster, it would appear that GM chose not to design any service factor into it. Ie. It is designed to handle X power for 100k mi and little room for error was left in the equation.
