Remote Didn't Work

I hope im posting this in the right area...

I was going out for my lunch break today, when i tried to unlock my car either the remote wasn't working, or the car wasn't responding. I pressed both unlock & lock several times. Nothing. Then i put the key in the keyhole and unlocked it, opened the door, pressed the buttons again and they worked!

Small fluke but why would this happen?

It has happened to a few people, myself included. Think something to do with the locking mechanism not locking all the way, but it hasnt happen since inserting the key.

Happened to me twice now. Going in for an oil change this morning and will ask about the BCM update.

really? hmm. ill try the chevy dealer by my house tomorrow after work.

Condition/Concern:

A customer may comment that the key fob does not respond to button presses. This could be the lock, unlock, trunk, panic, or remote start buttons. Once the customer uses the mechanical key to unlock and open the driver's door, functionality for the key fob returns.

Recommendation/Instructions:

Do not replace or reprogram the key fob. This concern is being addressed and an updated BCM calibration.

I have an app. tomorrow at 3pm to get the BCM updated. I will post back and let you know how it went.... I also had the key fob issue

Hi Bogus,

I did some research in the Owner's Manual on your Remote Start and did not see anything that could have caused this. Hopefully the dealer will be able to figure out what's going on. Please post and let us know what the cause is after you take to the dealer. I will follow with you.
