That is true too.
My wife can drive both but prefers autos.
I'm depending on set up if I want a auto or a manual. But a proper auto not a ****ty slush box.
The auto in my Honda is "ok" it works. I wish it had a 5 speed.

yes. it's not actually any smoother, but it comes when you expect it so it seems smoother.

My wife had driven my Saturn, very poorly, twice before and her car was an auto. We sold mine and she totaled hers so the sonic is our only car.
She was cursing me the first couple weeks but now she gets disappointed when she sees a car she likes in an auto... My wife doesn't race and isn't a "car person" she just enjoys driving a manual now that she is good at it.

purpose of manual mode
I have a 2014 rs, the purpose of manual mode is pretty much for performance.
in manual mode the shift pressures are higher and it shifts harder, and it also changes the stall speed of the converter. if you have the car in drive, hold the brake and put the gas pedal on the carpet it will only rev up to about 1500 rpm, in manual mode it goes to 2000. now if you really want to have fun turn the traction control off put it in manual , stand on the brake, put it on the carpet and it will go to 3000 and have 12 psi of boost and let go of the brake and click 2nd gear as you roll out and you will do about an 80 ft burnout. I have superchips scr 8040 tuner so that changes it some too. 0-60 times went from a sad 9.0 secc to 6.9 sec
