The whole plant had to be remodeled and once that was done supplier issues combined to delay start of regular production from August 1982 to spring 1983. Over forty captured test vehicles were assembled when GM decided to scrap '83 and go direct to '84 model year. We know one was kept and are told the rest were destroyed. So far that seems to be what happened.
GM has a long history of destroying what could be rare items but through the decades does keep some around for history.
