You have MUCH to learn Scott, much to learn. Compression ratio has nothing to do with the numbers you are looking at. I would have more concern about KR, my bottom end and my pistons when talking about compression ratios.
1psi = 10hp is rarely the case either. 8-12hp is a decent figure, but not always correct.
The reason I'm staying out of the 1.4T and the 1.8T stuff is I've been down this road before, and it gets very expensive. I went through three 41TE transmissions in my PT Cruiser and the 4th was on it's way out with less than 50k miles, I don't want those headaches again. Granted, that little 2.4l got me well over 400whp but still lol.
I think the drivetrain is what's going to bring this project to a grinding hault to be honest. Much respect to the gentlemen who make it work somehow, I'll keep watching this thread for updates. Good luck guys
How does "1psi =10 HP" ever work? For example how could that rule apply to a 100cc engine the same as it would to an 8 liter one?
