The Headlight Rings Pop-Off

I took the Rings off and then I use duplicolor. I cleaned the rings in paint thinner. Then i sprayed with metal red

Well done, I did the same to my LT1 caprice, it was white however. The duplicolor metal red looks even better in person on a prepped surface.

So a question SonicR do you have a body kit on your sonic ??? And how did you paint those and remove those???

Yes it is the carbon fiber kit that I painted wish I didn't. It took to long to take off the front kit . Just mask the fog lights rings

Just got mine done with plasti dip. Turned out nice...Doing the grill and bowties soon.

You don't, you get a spray like VHT Nightshades and spray it on the outside

I just received my extra hatch taillight for the LED project and I found out something that may be of interest to some. If you remove the 8-10 philips screws from the back of the assembly, the "metallic black plastic bezel" separates from the light housing.
Then there are clips holding in the dreaded chrome rings. Once the philips screws holding these little clips are removed.......... The Taillight Rings Pop-Off.

Has any bought the red rings off that one site? I dont really want to break the rings when i remove them.

buying new would require removing the old. If you are going to go through that process if you take the bumper off the chrome/black lens cover unscrews and you can remove the screw holding the ring in.

or just break the damn tab and spray paint. Keep in mind there is only 1 screw so it should still hold in place with the other tabs.

Pretty much what he said, to put new ones off you must properly remove the old. meaning taking off the bumper cover and pulling the lights out, by that time just paint the ones you have.
