I also have the MyLink in my '13 LTZ. Overall, it's a big improvement over what I had in my last ride. My only complaint is that the random play on MP3's is not random at all. It will play the exact same songs in the same order when you change tracks. I've tried different brands of USB drives and made sure they are formatted with FAT32 with the same results.

The bluetooth pairing works great with my iPhone 4s, no complaints there. The sound quality is really pretty decent for a non-subwoofer equipped system.

The screen brightness is a bit high, but not enough to be a distraction while driving at night. I wish I could download and install customized background screens.

Overall, I'm satisfied with MyLink, and hope that they provide a flash update that I can download to a USB stick and flash myself. I'd rather not have to take it into the dealer for a simple firmware update.

Siri Coming to MyLink in Limited Capacity

Chevrolet is at CES and showing off the Siri integration with the MyLink buttons. Check out this article for more info. Looks like current Sonic owners WILL be able to add this functionality with a firmware update "later this year" by going to a dealer.

Incidentally, if you didn't know, you can access Siri now. Press MyLink and say the command "voice". It will say it is accessing your phone, then you'll hear the familiar chime. For some reason, commands are not as robustly understood when I do it this way, as opposed to just pushing the button on my phone and speaking the same way through car audio. Not sure why. But it gets the job done most of the time.

I know what SIRI is and have every desire to stay away from it, but what the heck is TuneIn?

If Chevy keeps adding these things, a MyLink screen is going to end up looking like my Desktop screen, with more icons to click than a normal human being should have to consider.

TuneIn is a radio app available on iOS and Android it allows you to listen to all types of radio stations from around the US and other countries also.... My wife uses it to listen to some radio stations from So Cal where we use to live

I have never gotten this to work. I totally stumped the MyLink support team when I called about it.

The only way I can access Siri is to:
1) Turn on MyLink (if not already on)
2) press the voice button so the MyLink display switches to Phone
3) press and hold the voice button until I hear the Siri prompt

What model iPhone are you using? I have an AT&T 4s with IOS 6.0.1.

I've got the same. Don't mean to insult your intelligence, but your phone is connected via bluetooth to your car, right? When I push the MyLink button and say the command "voice", she says something like "ok, accessing..." and then it plays the recording of me saying "iphone" back when I first linked my phone. Then the Siri chime sounds.

I don't think it will work if you have the phone plugged in with USB AND paired with bluetooth. Try unplugging from USB and then see if you can say the voice commands.

Wow sound like you need to be the radio engineer. It works just fine in my Ride maybe its your expectations!

Xm should remember if on presets.
Nav application will be out soon, Yours was not engineered to work they way you are plumbing in the audio.

New apps are being released in the future.
The radio does not preform any buffering as you may think.

Sorry your that unhappy but Most people are fine with the Mylink in the model.

sorry if this has been posted before but trying to find a straight answer since I've been getting the runaround from my dealer and Chevy support. Does the mylink with touchscreen display allow voice recognition for phone commands not just voice pass through. I can access Siri through the phone book screen but when I hold down voice button I get no "beep, ready..."

Still trying to figure this one out as my sonic is only 2 weeks old! Thanks!

yep, connected over Bluetooth, not plugged in to USB. sounds like a totally different car. I have never had any voice prompts except what came over BT from my phone. My turn for stupid questions...You have the 7" touch screen, right? And by "MyLink button", you mean the phone button on the right-hand side of the steering wheel that looks like a guy wearing a phone handset as a hat?

What version of MyLink firmware do you have? Mine is posted towards the end of the "features" thread.

Lately it hasn't been doing it. I called XM and they told me they had some technical difficulties and it was going to get fixed.

So, it's been doing it again and it even froze couple times. I'm fed up so I dropped it off at the dealership and I'll pick it up in Monday. Service rep called me while I was driving and told me they couldn't find any bugs and even reset the radio. They even checked with GM to see if there are any recalls. NONE....

So from what I can tell, you will have to put the car in park to view pictures and/or videos.

These videos show the woman putting the car in park before a slideshow and the other shows the text at the bottom, "car must be in park" during the video demonstration.

This worries me since it may be more difficult to develop a workaround as it doesnt seem to be a simple E-brake bypass like most 3rd party units.

Does anyone have some experience or insight as to a possible workaround? This is definitely something I would like to figure out.

I got the auto 2013 rs, I plugged up usb with video and it plays the video when I'm not in Park. . It seems after I drive over 5mph it turns display off, then I slow down then it shows back on the screen

I have mylink and an iPhone 4. Music plays through USB and Bluetooth ok but it won't let me see any pictures or videos from the iPhone. Also tried wife's iphone 5- no vids or pics it says device not connected. I found my old blackberry storm, charged it and plugged it in. Mylink says device not compatible, playback not possible. Then the music starts playing off the bb. I hit the home screen, select pics & videos and all the pics and videos show up. Not all videos play because of type but all pics work and some vids. Why won't it work with the iPhones? Will it work with androids? What current smartphone is the most compatible with mylink?

When you guys listen to your bluetooth devices do you connect it throught the USB port? or is it through just bluetooth? When I first got my car, bluetooth would work with out plugging it in, but now I turn on the bluetooth and then it disappears. Works if I need to use the phone as a phone but not as a media player. So just wondering. Also, I use my ipod connected through the USB port and if I skip around 8-10 songs in a row it disconnects from Mylink and I have to manually reconnect (unplug and plug) it for it to work.

Anyone else with the same problem?

Hi folks. Here is another gripe you may want to add to the list. 2013 Chevy Sonic RS with the "MyLink" System.

The problem I'm encountering is with DivX video files specifically. After I register my DivX device (Mylink Device) and create the SonicRS.divx file and after dixv transfers it to my usb thumb drive. I then plug it into my USB port in my car. The MyLink/DivX system recognizes the file, attempts to read it. However it immediately displays a message on the mylink device to the affect of "your device is not authorized to play this file"

GM support and the Mylink Support team has not been able to resolve this issue.
I've posted in the DivX forum as well. If I get some answers there I'll post them here for us.

Has anyone encountered an issue like this?

I agree with you on this. I can't believe you can't set it to always display song/artist info rather than the station. Or it should be able to display all of that info.

i figured this out. if you push info you can see the artist/song info and then just leave it there and it wont go back to the station screen automatically, even if it changes songs or if you change the station with the presets.

I know the 2013s have Siri already.

When not connected by USB, with phone paired over Bluetooth, press call button on wheel once.

Phone screen comes up.

Press and hold call button.

Siri.

Viola.
