someone might have answered this already, but what is the best way to get videos to play on mylink? what format works best and where'd you get the videos from? thanks

I have looked through the forum and this thread for the answers, haven't been able to find them, so looking for some concrete facts.
1. Does the MyLink cut the power to the rear speakers like the 2012 year head units did?
2. How are the external hook-ups in the back of the MyLink touchscreen? Are there ports for an amp and subs?
3. Last, kinda most important... Can the MyLink be incorporated into the 2012's? I heard a while ago that it wasn't possible because of the ECUs, just looking for a final answer.

MyLink and DivX USB register device issue
Contrary to the documentation, the solution was that the "NickName" needs to be "MyLink"
During the registration of your device from you PC with in DivX. when you are promoted to put in a unique nickname, you must use mylink as the nick name.
I called GM mylink support team to let them know what the solution was. DivX never responded but I doubt they would have known anyways.

Why can't I watch videos or see pictures from an iPhone on mylink? It works with a blackberry. Too bad the blackberry is a piece of $@!*.

I had the exact same problem with my radio about a month ago. It started happening on a wednesday, so that night I pulled the radio fuse out and took it to chevy the next morning. I put the fuse back in when I got to the dealership and they were not able to duplicate the problem. And I have not had the problem again since. I'm guess it is just a glitch and pulling the fuse resets the system, fixing the problem.

Not true.
This giant amalgamated thread is useless and causes repost after repost.
(There should be a MyLink FOLDER with different subjects as their own THREAD)
As I said before, I've played .AVI files that are MPEG4.
I can't remember but I *think* I played a .mkv as well.
I've never heard so much complaining about such a cheap, feature-rich option before.
That's the iPod generation for you.

Not through a dealer.
No one has successfully done this on any Chevy to date.
The indications are it will be a costly change; not only is a new fascia and head unit needed, but additional wiring.
I suspect it can be done, but as I said, no one has to date.

That ^ would be the easiest and most affordable choice. And as of now the only choice as to my knowledge no one has successfully installed MyLink in any vehicle that did not have it when produced. Attempts are in progress, and from these we know when done it will be costly.

We just picked up the Sonic last weekend but my wife has been complaining about problems with her iPhone 4S disconnecting and reconnecting intermittently from the MyLink system. It usually happens two or three times during her 15 minute commute. It's a 2013 so the TSB stickied doesn't seem to apply. Is this a common problem, and is there an update or a workaround I should be trying?

Does your phone go to sleep during those times? Set it to where the screen and stuff doesnt turn off.

While I was at the dealer, I sat in a Cruze with Mylink. It was a better interface, seemed to be jazzier.
Did the Sonic get the low end Mylink? Would like a little better background image when music is playing than the odd light show on the right.
Would be cool if you could make a photo you like into a background.

My wife dropped the car off at the dealer yesterday and they seem... confused. They have a case in the Chevy technical support and got the version numbers for all the software on the car, but they're waiting to hear back to see what they should do. I'm not getting warm fuzzies from them so far. From what I can tell the car sat at the dealer all day for no go reason, and once they find someone with a clue it has to go back.
The phone isn't going to sleep when it disconnects. It shouldn't matter (the bluetooth link in both my other cars stays active fine even if the phone is in my pocket), but we've seen cases now where she's actively using the phone in the passenger seat when it cuts out. The phone is usually screen off the whole time, or screen on the whole time, and there doesn't seem to be a correlation between that changing the the phone deciding to disconnect.
Her phone has the latest iOS system update. 6.1.2 as of yesterday. It works find with the other cars, though, so I'm fairly confident it's not an issue with the phone itself.

This is a Nexus 4 thing. If I remember correctly the Nexus uses a charging voltage is in a different range than the port. I will try to look into this deeper on Monday for you.
