GM's ears must have been burning. I just received an email from Chevy about the MyLink update, new apps, and to call my local dealer to schedule an appointment. Anyone else get this same email? Dealers may see a wave of calls.

I too received the email. It made me laugh because I won't be wasting my time with this update until the dealers all have their **** together and can do this update without multiple trips being required.
Whatever you do... don't be the Guinea Pig. Ask the dealer to update a few in their inventory before trying yours.
This is precisely why I am not bothering with it just yet.
I don't have enough space on my iPhone for BringGo. I already have the TuneIn app on my phone often use it via bluetooth and find it works acceptably. I can deal with the occasional glitches like the channel 1 stupidity that happens once a week or so. The more I think about it, the less of a hurry I'm in to have this update.
I hate to sound like a selfish jerk, but I would rather them tear up other people's cars to learn how this is done before ever touching mine. Nobody will care for my car and be as particular about it as I will. Where there is disassembly, there can be scratches and rattles introduced. Absolutely unacceptable.
I have tried 2 dealers in last 3 days for this My link upgrade. Have been told oh yeah we can do that. So I went to dealer 1 and found haven't done this yet. So go to dealer #2 tells me I think we have done this. Says to leave car for like 6 hrs? So I guess I wait to get this done. Maybe never. I am thinking at this point simply not worth the hassle. Maybe GM should just send the software updates out to those affected by installing the software to a USB flash drive or at least offer it as an option. Some of us work crazy hours and don't have a lot of time to kill at the dealership.
anyones mylink freezing to the point it wont tuen on to the actual radio?
I think there's a post earlier in this thread or in the bringgo thread about the radio taking up to 5 minutes to turn on after getting the update. Maybe look for that person and find out what the issue was.

I've had some minor issues like this when the radio keeps showing the MyLink screen and doesn't start playing. I think this is due more to the fact that it's Windows CE based. I just turn the car off and back on and it's fine. Kinda like rebooting a computer.
I guess any technology will have it's issues.
