I agree, I hate this and it should be user selectable.

When playing MP3s via thumb drive via USB, MyLink seems to randomly ignore cover art embedded in the mp3s. It will show it for some albums but not others.
I've verified that the cover are is indeed embedded for all tracks.
Does MyLink use Gracenote or some other method to determine whether to display cover art rather than the embedded data?
I've found that reliance on Gracenote and other data servies is a royal pain in the [CENSORED], especially if what you tend to listen to is obscure and/or not mainstream.
Hence my always embedding cover art.
*grumble*

Probably has more to do with the file type used.
???
All the files on the flash drive are mp3s. All have cover art embedded.
Album A: 320kbps mp3s with album art embedded. Does not show artwork in MyLink.
Album B: 320kbps mp3s with album art embedded. Shows artwork in MyLink.
There's no difference in the file formats.
Or are you saying that one should use a file format other than mp3 with MyLink in order to achieve the most consistent results?
I just went through this and cleaned up all of the files on the USB drive. The album art has different sections, one of me being a comment. If he comment was anything but blank the album art would not display. I had to set the album art type to front cover and remove all comments.

Sedans Rule!
Sort of related to the last few posts... Anyone know the aspect ratio for cover art to display in MyLink without being distorted? I've embedded some square pictures and when displayed in MyLink the aspect ratio is not preserved so everything gets squished.
I can eyeball it and get it close but thought I'd see if someone knows for sure.
Appreciate any help!

No, the image file....
It might be "embedded", but that doesn't mean the head unit can handle that file type...
Got it, thanks.

Got my new Head Unit...could've had it earlier but I never answer my phone.
Now I have Music, Clock, settings. Good stuff. For the first time since I bought car I can push the button on the wheel and say " Call ----- " and it works just like in the commercial !! Felt so good I decided to wash the car for once.

This thread has now been going on for 9 months, has hundreds of off topic posts, and contributes very little to the overall discussion about ICE. May we request a sub-forum for the MyLink topic. The Bringo threads, and other MyLink topics may move in there, and at that point, we will probably start having much better discussions about the MyLink device.
Also, lurkers like me will be more likely to participate in the discussion.
Just a suggestion, thank you for the hard work, I know it's not easy being a moderator.

MyLink and The New iPhone 5s
Got the new iPhone 5s today and paired it with my 2013 Sonic LTZ MyLink. One thing I noticed was that unlike my iPhone 4s with iOS7 the iPhone showed "Mylink" as an AirPlay option, along with "IPOD Connector". Unfortunately, none of these selections allowed video--did get sound though-- from the iPhone to appear on the MyLink screen; no matter what settings in MyLink were selected, and with or with out the IPOD Connector connected.
What I got from this though is that it would appear that the 2013 Sonic is iOS 7 In The Car ready from a hardware prospective. Now Chevy just needs to get the software on their end updated to allow the Video connection.
Spoke with Chevy yesterday about iOS 7. They were not forth coming with any information regarding iOS 7 In The Car. They just said that there is not any current plans for any other functionality in MyLink other than what is there today. There weren't even sure if iOS 7 and/or the new iPhone 5s would work with MyLink.
Well guess what Chevrolet; it does. Now lets get the update going to get iOS 7 In The car. After all I purchased the Chevy Sonic specifically because of that expected functionality.
Anyone else have any experience with the new iPhone 5s or 5c, please post em.

Bluetooth in and out issue
Continue to experience Bluetooth connect and disconnect at random. Any one else experience this.
Seems to always reconnect.
Also XM continues to restart in preview channel.

Not sure if it is true for everyone but i found that with the iPhone in the upper glovebox, not plugged into the USB. The Bluetooth is rock solid. I am wondering if this is by design so you can't use the phone while driving. Ok with me but not sure about others.

My iPhone 4S with iOS 6 shows that in the AirPlay menu as well.
From what I understand it is a switch in the phone to enable iOS in the car and it is not yet available. Since iOS in the car has not been officially released to the consumer, Chevy still may be under an NDA while they are working on it.
All the pics I have seen of it demoed so far are in a 2013 interior so I'm staying hopeful.
It has happened on and off for me, I found disabling the WiFi on the phone can help sometimes. I blame the phone though at times because the Bluetooth has gone stupid with a regular headset at times too.
Font size?
I have a question (although it's most likely more of a suggestion). Most of the time I'm listening to satellite radio in my car. The two top lines in the display tell me I'm listening to XM Radio and which station I'm listening to, and these display in a pretty large font. The Title and Artist of the song I'm listening to is toward the bottom in (what is for me) a pretty small font, and that's really the information I'm most interested in knowing. Is there any adjustment regarding the font size, or in what order the information is displayed? Again, I figure there probably isn't, but you people seem to be pretty knowledgeable around here. And if it doesn't currently exist, maybe it could be addressed in a future update. Hey, it's worth a try!

is this normal? I got an iphone 5 with ios 7 and I cannot access my music library or have soudn output through my music player when its plug into the USB port. When my iphone is plugged into the USB port I can only use Pandora and Bringo. On the flip side, pandora and bringo cannot be access via bluetooth, only through USB, some that my old android phone can do.
And this is an issue before and after my update.
