Now would be a good time to put the dealer on blast. Please tell us who it is and where they're located. I just don't understand why they feel like they can get away with this crap. I get why they do it, but still. (Basically, if they can get you to pay for the repair, they make a lot more money than if GM pays for the repair.)
I'd be concerned about opening my self up to a lawsuit by doing that.
Even if you're 100% right, they can still come after you and could cost a lot of money to defend yourself.

Go after him for what? Saying what dealer it was is not cause for any type of lawsuit. If that's the case I would think sites such as yelp would be shut down
Defamation.
Still fighting with the dealership, GM called them and talked about the issue. The dealership is still saying that the turbo falls under emissions and not powertrain. The car is 3 fu*king years old the turbo should still be working. I have had nothing but issues with this car from the day i drove it off the lot. If they still will not cover the turbo, my car will not pass inspection. Its bad enough I am driving around with a rejection sticker. If they will not cover the turbo they can have my car, I am not dropping over $1,000 into it. Sorry about the venting, I am just pretty pissed off at this point.

So after dealing with Chevy and the dealership, and threating to sue them they finally called me last Friday and said that they ordered me a new turbo. I took my sonic in this morning. After about an hour the service manager can out and told me that the oil line to the turbo basicly fell apart in the techs hand. So they have to over night the line and I'll have my car back tomarrow. They have been kissing my ass up and down. Even gave me a brand new truck off the lot to drive. From what the dealership told me, they have seen this issue with the line with cruzes but not sonics
Which line? The drain or feed?
It was the feed, the dealership said that it looks like it just got to hot.
On a better note, my turbo is replaced and its like night and day with the amount of power I have back. Hopefully this turbo holds up.
My son has a 2017 Sonic 1.4T Sedan. It started running rough then lost a lot of power and then threw up a code. The local dealer told him the turbo was only operating at around the mid-90s efficiency but not to worry since it is covered by the warranty. The car has about 66K miles on it. They then reset the code and it cleared up. They said they could not repair since it did not throw out the code again. Fast forward a week and my son takes a long trip and gets the code again after approximately 600 miles. He drops by the dealer and is again told the turbo is bad and is covered. Code is reset and dealer says they cannot replace the turbo unless the code flashes again. At this point I tell him to call Chevrolet customer care to get clarification of this "dog chasing his tail" policy. They say the same that the code has to flash for the techs in order to warrant a turbo replacement. My son then limps a couple hundred miles to where I am. We will be going to a different dealer Monday but I wanted to see of anyone else is seeing this type of apparent reticence to handle Sonic issues. Is it because Sonics are the lower cost vehicle from Chevy? This is the first Chevy I have ever bought under warranty. I have had a Ford and know Ford likes to do workarounds rather than fix their vehicles. Is Chevy just as bad?
