The point of this project for me is to actually build the engine and put in a car. Not modify an existing engine.
Its something I've been wanting to do and even if it takes a while I'm okay with it. I just want to actually do it by hand and have something I made myself.
I understand this. Either way if it's a race car go aluminum, it's plenty strong and much lighter. That being said you could build an ls block from scratch with a carb like you want. They are super sturdy blocks. Start with an ls1 and bore it to whatever you please

and a nice set of aftermarket heads, u will be crazy fast and you can still shoot it with nitrous.
