Water temp gauge install

To anyone that installed aftermarket gauges like oil temperature and oil pressure can you tell me the best location to feed the wires through the firewall? Just need a heads up if there us a dummy rubber plug or grommet for access. I plan on installing a oil temperature and oil pressure. Thinking about engine cooling temperature gauge and volt meter as well.

When I installed my boost gauge, the absolute easiest place I found was the hood latch grommet. Remove the cowl and wipers and it's right there. Fish it up to the drivers side piller and go where ever you need at that point.

I work at a Buick dealer so most of the 1.4s I see are in encores and they don't move around as much like on my sonic. But most of the coolant repairs I do are due to the plastic they use getting brittle. They must of borrowed the plastic formula from Volkswagen. Our engines are German design. And most of the parts are made in Germany.

Or Romania, Slovenia, Hungary, Czech Republic, Mexico, Korea, ect....
They all seem to have a hand in engine component manufacturing for the U.S. assembeled Sonic bound 1.4s.....

The Encores are built in Korea, as are the engines and transmissions, so some of their sub components may be sourced from there as well.
