What kind of Wax/Polish do you use?

I use Turtle Wax for scratches, polishing and Hi-Gear Silicone spray for rubber.

Turtle Wax Ice is all I've used on this car so far. It's been ok. I question if the performance justifies the price point, I'm not sure about how much protection it actually provides. It does make cleanup of bird crap and the like quite easy as advertised though. And super easy to apply/remove.

I'm going to have to go over it with a claybar and give it another wax in the morning (if the rain holds off) thanks to all the drunken morons and their fireworks in the neighborhood. God knows what kind of fallout is resting on my baby right now. :sadbanana:

I have had great results with Collonite Marque d'Elegance on black. Didn't seem to be anything special on my old yellow Cavalier, but on the black Camaro and black Sonic its a much deeper shine than anything else I've used.

I use Meguires Tech Wax one a year. Usually use Mothers Showtime for quick shine after washing which is a very very good product but when I really want the car to dazzle in the sunlight there is nothing better than Duragloss. I always use Duragloss soap when washing too.

Its supposed to be the best ever
All I know is my little sonic is victory red and the elements are very hard on red paint.
I have tried different waxes/polishes on my car and seems like none of them last very long.
I try to keep my car waxed every other week during the hot summer months.

Thanks, I have been looking for a good wax to use with my victory red car as well. What car wash do you use if I may ask?

I just bought Nu Finish (The Once A Year Car Polish)... put it on....DON'T plan to run it through 50 car washes

Smooth finish... the next rain will see if it holds up....I've always read/heard it does pretty well.

However, the best wax finish I ever had, was when I clay-barred the Civic Si...man that water just beaded up and ran right off the car!

You realize that the clear coat is going to crack,fade, scratch over time anyways?

Should you wax it right when you get home from the dealer? No, it takes a month or two for the paint to fully cure. But after that its all good.

wax it when you get home. that car took a couple of months to get to you. paint is well cured by the time it hits the dealership with shipping and storage times figured in from the factory to dealer .. paints are also water based now.

i wash my car with a turtle soap car wash and go over with a meguires quick detailer after. it has some polish and ads protection. i noticed with using it the next wash which is every friday the dirt and spots whether it be bird **** or other spots come off easier. and buffing takes off the layer of clear coat wax reseals it and thel polish protects it. if your car is dull in some area or light scratches it should be buffed out with a buffing compound if not then wax and polish is all it needs.

Oh really??? Lol you should tell that to people that buy exotic cars than, see what they'll tell you.

I use Mothers FX Synwax, actually I only use Mother products.

When I worked for skip barber we didn't have running water at our Limerock shop.
We would wash our 911's, Caymen's, ISF's, Rx8's, Exige's, and BMW's (along with all our other fender and formula cars) with Glass gleaner and a dirty rag. Never once used wax on them.

I give Boo Boo a lot of credit. He loves Sonic Boom so much. Every night, he'll go out there into the back cave and just detail away. We definitely don't live in a dust free environment, so it does get dirty pretty quick. He starts by washing, usually takes an hour or two to do that, then starts on polishing. Wheels out the whole car and then finishes with two coats of wax. I know most of you are probably thinking why all this work on a white car. Ha, I wonder the same thing. But he loves doing it. Then he vacuums and cleans the interior after that. But it does look brand new when he's done!

Boo Boo loves his Mothers products! Easy to buy him Christmas presents every year though.

I just tried Turtle super hard shell wax and Turtle black detailer spray... I'm pretty happy with the results, the Sonic looks good.
