Widebody kit available anywhere?

Yep, just finished it! Are you referring to the foam that expands? I think the advantage of regular styrofoam from HD is it is already the exact same width, and you can form one side, and slap the opposite side right up agin it, shape a mirror piece, and more likely come up with near or identical flares.

Awesome! Pics MEOW! I think were referring to the same stuff. I've heard of people using the expanding foam, but I you are right on track where it would be harder to get symetrical. The insulation foam is rigid and usually comes in 4'x8' sheets of various thicknesses. A buddy of mine built a recumbant bike shell and used that stuff for his pattern. Its super easy to shape and smooth out.

If I did it, those items would definitely need some fixing. It would look silly IMO to keep the same track width with a wide body kit.

What tmo was saying was that the right wheel width and offset would accomplish the same thing as spacers or better.

Really we haven't even pushed the limits of width and offset on this car. Was it preloader that is running 19mm spacers and 7" or 7.5" wheel width? If you add the width to the wheels instead of using spacers you could easily add another inch to the width. If you roll the fenders, then probably an inch and a half.

So, I really don't see the need for a wide body kit if we could fit 8.5"-9" wheels with at least 245 tires. There's no way the car would realistically need more than that with the 1.4t.

Speaking of wishing that the Sonic was a 2 door...

A while back, a parking cop was writing up a ticket for my Sonic and labeled it as a 2 door. XD

And yes, I got out of that ticket.
