Windshield air intake vents holding water?

So for about a month or so my sonic just hasnt been smelling right. It almost smells like a faint hint of mildew.. My stepfathers 99accord had this problem where if he left his car outside in the rain the vents would hold the water and make the same smell (only alot worse). Recently i started noticing the noise of water shifting in the front right side of the dash/ engine bay, when i started moving from a dead stop, it doesnt happen all the time , and its more frequent when its my first start pulling out of my spot on my way to work. Any thoughts or suggestions on what to look at before i take it to dealer? Had ne body had this issue?

I actually had water get in and puddle on the drivers and passengers floor. Below is what the dealer reported. This may or may not be related to your issue. I wonder if you parked on an incline if that water would get in?

Removed fresh air cowl screen found signs of water entering fresh air door scoop. Made a water damn and added foam block to plastic cowl. Pressure tested windshield and other sealing area's no leaks found. Water tested after reassemble no water getting in fresh air scoop now. Reassembled interior. Note engineers have found water getting in when parked on a 2 degree incline most drive ways with right side slightly higher. Water test after repair and those conditions OK at this time.

Hmm thanks for that .. Definitely worth a look.. Both of my parking spots at home and work are completely flat so idk.. Ill take it apart at work and peek inside

Run your fan on 4, no A/C for a minute before you shut it down at the end of a journey. The smell will go away.

The water noise is normal.
