Wiper blades: your recommendations

I have had a horrible time with the clips breaking on the wipers. The rear wiper I have only found the at the dealership. This summer I am going to see if I can find the more traditional wiper arms with the J hook that will fit our cars.

The Trico "Exact Fit" blade series part # is 10E.

10" blade and the "E" means it has the correct factory style attachment.

This blade is readily available at any good auto parts store that handles Trico - either in stock or they can order them in for you. Amazon also has them.

Trico makes the OE blades for GM.

I purchased the "aero" set for the front off amazon. Going to see how they do...super cheap for solid beam style wiper blades.

These took less than 60 seconds to install both.

I just picked these Aero blades up for $20 on amazon for the set. Let me just say, they are way better than stock! It may be that my sonic is going on 4 years old, and likely the stock blades were never replaced. These blades are super quiet and leave no streaks! Best of all FREE shipping, NO Tax and half the price of store-bought "premium" blades. Lastly, install was a breeze in just 2 minutes! Not quite as fast as RMinNJ, mainly cause I was afraid of cracking the windshield :banana:

My Aero blades are in need of replacing already. I'l probably end up with them again because if I cannot find good blades locally that don't cost $20 each.

for the rear, make sure when you remove what's there, it pulls away from the base of the arm then will come out. It doesn't just pull "straight" out of that arm... there's sort of a inset notch...pull too hard and you'll break the arm out covering.

I just bought a regular 10" blade I believe, removed all the plastic do-hickeys that they include for the various types of connections, and it just pops right into the OEM blade holder... cheap!

I just got those bosch pure visions as well.
26" and 15" fits just like the dealer ones.

Everything is crystal clear so far!

You can actually get the 15" size in many different brands from your auto part store or even walmart.

Hi, I also drive the hatch. I found that the rain-x expert fit size R-12-E, sold at walmart (and probably other places) first great. It's only slightly longer than the OEM blade, it reaches about a half inch higher. However, I can't speak to the longevity. I just bought it yesterday and put it on. Hope this helps.

As does Valeo and Anco. It's flip-flopped over the years as to who GM uses....(as with tires and other things like that).

I have good luck with Anco Profile and Contour blades. Readily available through Rock Auto. I buy two sets and keep one spare brand new set in the trunk. When I'm down to one, I pick up another set. Comes in handy in the winter. I've had one split on me (one time at work) and it was a 10 minute change over job.....

I just did my wipers today. I don't drive much, and they had been on since 02/13, and started to shred. I got good mileage out of them...

I just Got the Aero's off Amazon, and they went on without issue.

Like someone else suggested, I'm going to order a spare set and toss them in the trunk for this price...

I used Amazon to tell me the rear ones, and it recommends a Trico 10-E "Exact Fit". Well, that didn't go so well.... I checked the 12-E and per Amazon, it said it didn't fit, and I didn't remember what was recommended here. grrrr

The 10-E is shorter than the OE and looks so weak on there. Plus, when I went to put on the rear one, 1/2 the holder came off. It looks pretty brittle. I even searched and there's a link talking about how it's broken apart on others.....

Hatchback wiper arm rotted away

I do park outside, but still... Shouldn't be so brittle. Seems to be holding, but now I have to order the whole arm and replace it. Looks like a pain, but I found it for $20.00 and $10.00 shipping.

I Think I'm going to get a 12E and eat the cost of the stupid 10E, but not til I replace the whole arm.

Anyone else having issues with rear arm being brittle?

My turn:

Got a new driver's side wiper blade today. Bosch Spectrum DirectFit Beam B2602 for about $22 at the local parts place. I also wanted the passenger side but they were out of stock.
No adapter required. I guess you could call it a directfit. The installation video on the Bosch site was more of a hinderance than a help. I was totally on my own figuring how to remove the old one but I got it.
It should get a good workout tomorrow.

I ordered Trico Flex from Amazon as well, but the adapter for the clip is about 1/4" too short. I'm wondering if you could switch these out for a more standard fitting (like a J hook). Has anyone tried that? Need help finding replacement arm part numbers that will work.
