"Would you buy it again?"

Hi all,

The January Consumer Reports has the results from their survey question "Would you buy your car again?"
In the compact/subcompact category, Sonic came in second with 79%. VW Golf TDI came in first at 81%. Fiesta got 9th place at 56%.

Yes, but I would buy the 1.4L instead simply for the increased fuel economy. But the 1.8L is fine.

I did.
I started with a 1.8, it got totaled while parked with 11K miles and I bought a 1.4T.

Didn't even consider another car and I still wouldn't after 28K on this one.

If something happens to mycar I will look for another Sonic. Yes I would like a 1.4 for the obvious reasons of better economy, but would be okay with another 1.8.

No I would not buy the 1.4 manual again. Between the throttle lag, tip in, and DMF it is the most awkward driving car and absolutely wrecks the driving experience. Yes it's that bad IMO.

Love every other aspect of the car though. Styling, power, fuel mileage, comfort etc.

So maybe I'm 50/50. I'd buy it again just with the 1.4 auto.

The transmission is acceptable, but the greatest joy for me in driving is shifting through the gears. Priority #1 for my next car is a flawless transmission. It just took me buying the Sonic to realize what a mediocre transmission feels like.

I definitely agree about the manual transmission. My 5Spd is so jumpy if you don't baby the heck out of it. My wife's Auto is a much smoother ride.

I would so buy another Sonic. I actually would love to have a 2nd Sonic and it would be the 1.4T so i could have a 1.8 and 1.4T Sonic. Love my 1.8, But would love to have a 1.4T too. And Since i already have a sedan, i would with the 1.4T Sonic get a Hatch Version. Either a LTZ or RS. Blue Topaz Metallic or The New Dragon Green Metallic and have it Two-Toned with the upper roofline part of the car Painted Black and the Rims a Dark Gunmetal Grey. Like this rendering i did here::

Yep, would welcome a Second Sonic into my Family.
